I hate this idea. Its immoral, unethical, pure greed and goes against the very concept of competitive sport

but, if this happens and thinking purely from a selfish Spurs perspective, we absolutely must be a part of this. Lets hope it doesn't come to this

Yeah, not quite sure I could stomach Spurs somehow being in a 'walled-garden' Super League. I very much doubt we'd be leaving our domestic league for it but if we did (albeit very unlikely) I think i'd call it a day with Spurs and just commit more to the mighty O's and also Torquay United (as my parents moved down to Torbay a good few years and my Dad is a season ticket holder). Much more fun!

I have the feeling we’ve only been invited so every team has a game they can win. The bastards! We are basically the ugly friend that gets invited out so your mates look better. I already get this in real life, please don’t make me suffer it in football life as well!

So it's unethical, but if it's happening anyway, we may as well get involved?

You've got to love the moral-relativism of the modern world :cautious:

Did you predict this? :)
Nope, but it's one more thing to add to the pile of reasons which convince me I made the right decision last year. Genuine condolences to everyone falling ever more out of love with football as shitty corporatism increases in the game at the expense of sporting romanticism.

Why all the panic it will never happen. These clubs just come up with this sort of thing to get a little bit extra out of uefa. Levy will always put our name to something like this , just in case.
It’s always driven by the Italians, Agnelli from Juventus is the main man.

I mean, being in the wealthy group like the Bling Empire, not too bad a thing? Like Kevin said, even if you are not rich, at least know some rich friends and join in their parties.

French media reporting they have the backing of fifa. Why would fifa stab uefa in the back ?

Why arent bayern, psg signed up to this yet?

PSG owners have ties in UEFA so they can't really join as it's a war on UEFA. Both German clubs have rejected it but if it happens, no doubt they will change their stance. Man City supposedly initially said no to the idea but backtracked and said yes eventually.

Obviously nothing concrete, just reports and rumours.

Yup. I am a highly partisan and long suffering Spurs fans. If this goes ahead and we are not in it we are f****d. We can barely compete now. Can you imagine if our biggest English rivals get turbocharged with an extra hundreds of millions and we stay where we are?

I love Spurs, more than I love football. I’m sorry, but that’s just the way it is

That said, i hope it doesn’t happen at all, but this has a feeling of inevitability about it

At the fundamental level, you're not talking about monolithic organisations, you're talking about individuals who run these entities.

And those individuals are just as open to ambition, careerism and a back-hander, as much as any individual is.

You mean who's stumping up the cash?

I thought JP Morgan was; underwriting can mean the giving of a loan.
