Doesn't sound very convincing with his words. If the new football regulator implements the government's white paper on football there won't be any English clubs joining unless they want to resign from the PL..

“There will be a Superleague for next season or the 25/26 season. If it not then, I will have a rethink. Now is the time.”

“I can see a first phase and then bringing in more team. I don’t care if the English teams are not in it. Some have shown interest.”

The wages they give players is bonkers. Them and Real Madrid. Look how much they were paying Bale. Now Bale was a world class player, but 600k a week? Mental stuff.

Messi was on more wasn’t he? No wonder Barca are fucked.
It's worse than that, because they were encouraging the players to believe that their income could be "protected" from the taxman.

There will be a super league tomorrow!

Or maybe the next day!

Or maybe the week after that!

Or maybe next month!

Or maybe next year!

Or maybe in the year 3732!

But there will definitely be a Super League!

Unless there isn't...in which case I will think again.

For I am Laporta.

Hear me roar gurgle.

I have no sympathy for Barcelona and Madrid because they killed off the competitiveness of La Liga by taking massive shares of the TV money. They complain that the Premier League makes more money but that's because no one wants to pay to watch their boring league that's dominated by two teams. If they'd have shared the money around a bit more maybe the whole league would be richer.

They created a duopoly in La Liga by demanding more money than the rest of the clubs, on the basis that they draw the most attention to the league. That right there is the problem, now they want to create a Super League where them and a couple of other clubs are protected and cannot be relegated.

They aren't getting it. Fans don't tune in to watch Barcelona and Real Madrid, they tune in to watch them play a game. If the opposition is poor because of no money, fans won't watch the game. Simple.

The beauty of the Premier League is that Nottingham Forest can be playing Fulham and you'll watch it because chances are you'll get a decent game. Leicester can almost get relegated, then win the league, then get relegated. Nobody is watching Getafe vs Alaves, not the casuals at least.

“Inter, Milan, Napoli, Roma, Olympique Marseille, Benfica, Porto, Sporting, Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, Anderlecht, Club Brugge and all Spanish clubs except Atlético Madrid”

European Super League 1970s Edition (1960s in the case of Benfica and Sporting). Can only assume Hamburg's invitation got lost in the post.

Could do with a few Spanish journalists asking him how much they paid for Coutinho etc. The premier league is rich, but that’s not why Barca are in trouble.

And dembele

not to mention M
Still a high average last season.

i meant commercial revenue barca had an insane member and waiting list so they I doubt it would reduce there stadium number, but shirt sales must have dropped hugel.

It did dip but now back up according to Deloitte , their wage bill is too high at 81% of revenue

Ajax, Anderlech, and Brugge with similar statemets too I think or at least they've conveyed the message through journos. Like essexyiddo27 said, soon they're going to need made up franchises to fill the numbers of this project.

Bingo. They got the money and trophies and glory by tilting the tracker in their favour. They can eff off feigning victimhood now.

'Torpedo your own domestic leagues for the good of RM and Barca like La Liga did'

Good luck with that sales pitch.

They won't need made up franchises imo. Once those charges hit City and FFP hampers Newcastle and Chelsea. They have three clubs from England who will want in. Already seeing the narrative from many saying how it's unfair and they premiership is stopping the dreams of these clubs
