Dier was very clearly back up for Toby and Jan. Davies was back up for Rose. I don't think that in itself is an issue, players can develop and improve and grow into a starting place. I think the issue with Dier and Davies is that they have not developed the consistency needed to be key starting players for a club with ambitions of winning things.
So clearly Dier and Davies are perfectly fine for us....

I like Mason he’s a nice fella and clearly liked. I don’t want to see him coach us right now tho, too big a job like I wouldn’t want to see a 7 year old driving a Range Rover.
But that's what Levy looks like behind the wheel. Explains the shambles of the running of the football side.

Conte doggedly drilling resentful players who know the project is already doomed is a recipe for a precipitous end of season slump.

If Mason takes over the likelihood is that he sticks with Conte’s tactics but eases off on the micromanagement. Everybody breathes out and the players maybe even start enjoying playing football again. It probably won’t be great but with luck watching us play might feel a little less like torture.

Well thats the main thing I am worried about

I'm looking forward to not having to watch dull Conte ball....

but if Levy thinks this move will deviate the spotlight away from the shambles he has overseen....

well, he's greatly mistaken...

but it will be forgotten cos some sort of spin will be put on it, to make him look good.

Would love to see a single player other than Harry Kane stand up to him and say “I don’t think you are being fair with those comments boss”

Conte “ oh really, please elaborate”

player “errr, um Ahhh, we won the Walter Tull trophy in the summer”

Lets not forget, Poch had to dig these lot out back in 2016 after they first wilted against an already relegated Newcastle - these players have form
The line-up that day was Lloris, Walker, Toby, Jan, Davies, Dier, Mason, Lamela, Ericksen, Son, Kane. The subs used on the day were Chadli, Carroll & Onomah. 9 of those players are not at the club any more and two (Kane & Son) have been incredible for us. That leaves Lloris, Dier and Davies. Putting aside that all three have had plenty of decent games, more than decent in Lloris' case I don't think you can just brazenly suggest that there is some sort of continuity between the side that got completely tonked by Liverpool Newcastle and the side that collapsed against Southhampton. Something else is going on here, clearly.

I half wonder if Conte’s outburst could be construed as gross misconduct/bringing the club into disrepute?

Certainly grounds for a disciplinary in any other corporate environment.

hate cryptics…..

I think it’s the following:

A hello wave
What looks like a rat (haven’t got my glasses though)
The sole of a foot
Some guy named Cameron
And a top view of a bowl.

So: Hello Rat Sole Cam Bowl….

Welcome to the rat Sol Campbell!

Nailed it.

Whoever the source is on all things Poch at sky is def a recruiter. Only a recruiter says “would def take the job if offered”

usually without asking the candidate 1st

No, I don't think it will be forgotten...not this time.

Levy might not give a fuck but the pressure is mounting on him.

i bloody Hope so, hes Done so much in the commercial side of things and if he just stopped trying to get involved in EVERYTHING! he’d leave a great legacy behind with the stadium and training ground.
But he won’t, cos he’s a bellend and can’t help himself.
