Conte is light years ahead of anything we've seen at spurs in the premier League era
I am sorry but this is extremely disrespectful to Pochettino and you should be ashamed making this statement.

Light years ahead of building us from mid table all the way to 2nd place, a CL final, entire season unbeaten at home, some of the most boss football we've ever played from '15-17? Sort yourself out.

Those years+ the CL run were utterly magical, and Conte has gotten more backing than Poch got as well.

I love Antonio but I'll always respect Poch and that comment is bang out of order.

Wondering: how well has Conte ever done with his teams when they're in the Champs League as well? Strikes me that his meticulous approach to games could work much less well with less prep time
Well he kept on winning titles when in the CL at Juve and at Inter. Chelsea was the only one he didn't, and it's unlikely that the CL was the reason for that.

Actually, I don't really buy into this idea of him being a meticulous planner. Obviously he adapts to every game, but he's not these sort of deep tactical coach that maybe some assume.

Let's put it this way, he rarely ever changes formation. He rarely ever tinkers with personnel on a game by game basis, and he actually rarely has a plan B (he has got better at this in recent years, but his team's are not known for their flexibility).

What makes Conte special, beyond being just a great man manager, is in implementing a particular vision of the game. This is largely based on providing players with clear options and passing lanes.

So, a lot of what he coaches is positional. Where you need to be at x point of the game, and things like when you receive the ball what should you do. This is actually much more similar than, say, a guardiola than a more traditional Italian manager like Capello.

Despite their fundamental differences in football styles they actually both employ a similar approach to football. Namely, a proactive one rather than a reactive one.

What Conte does do, like every manager or management team does, is on the basis of scouting they make tactical adjustments that specifically target weaknesses and respond to threats. But this isn't what makes him special and while I am sure he would like more time, it's not that his style is more disadvantaged compared to others.

Conte's biggest weakness seems to be that he tends to underperform in cup competitions, particularly the champions League. And this I think is in part down to inflexibility of his teams. They aren't always able to deal with specific in game situations and are not able to necessarily adapt to the unique threats of certain teams.

Genuinely started to think how I’d feel if we really become very very good like City/Liverpool last few seasons. I’m so used to the jeopardy and rollercoaster with supporting Spurs would be very weird.

Watching his pre-game press conference the other day and his post match interview - anyone else noticed that his level of English seems to have improved? The vocabulary he is using, the fluency of sentences - hopefully will translate into even better communication with his players and staff.

I am not sure that this statement is disrespectful, I love Poch and he pulled off an amazing period for the club. Conte is a different level, his focus on the team and individual players, keeps surprising me, he demonstrated that by starting with the players that finished the season. It was obvious from the getgo yesterday that this team was working together and individual players had improved. I did a double take at one stage where I thought PEH was Kulu or Kane, the guys physic has really improved and his appetite and technique has improved. (PEH is one of my pet hates) This could be seen all over the pitch. Kane stitched much of the interplay together and he was not bothered. Based o how we finished the season and the players Conte has at his disposal we can only continue to improve on our fourth place last year .

With Poch it was a bit like a box of chocolates, you were going to enjoy it, but never quite sure what you were going to get

I love Poch and we are forgetting what he did but dont think the OP meant anything disrespecting Poch.

Conte is definitely a level above Poch though but I love Poch and will want him back after we have won the quad with Conte and Conte is like I have done what I had came to do.

Actually Potter is great too. I digress but succession planning is important.

And much of the time not having an actual home stadium, managing us through the transition to the new stadium.

Conte has been very professional in his comments so far - not a whinger like some - but I do wonder what he will be like if we are fighting head to head with the top team(s) come February / March and a decision or two goes against us.

We have two exceptional teams to overtake and probably need both of them to return a lower points tally than has been typical because I just don't see us getting 96+ points (I hope I am wrong and will happily take all of SC trolling me!) City have replaced Jesus and Sterling with Haaland and Alvarez, which I would call overall improvement. Nunez for Mane is six and two-threes, but I think Liverpool may have a weak spot in midfield unless they buy before the window closes.

Goosebumps.....

We were 20th in creation under Nuno 3months prior...

This is the first stat that gives me confidence that we can actually win a PL title under Conte...inspite of City dominance

Absolutely love Conte and his passion. It definitely carries over to the team. Yes I know Liverpool and City are up there. However if we can take each game as it comes and get the results as they come. I don't see why we can't compete at the top. The Conte system is a well oiled machine ready to batter teams.

Let Liverpool and City worry about their own games and us about ours. We will see where we are at the end of the season with Conte in charge.
