A lot of the squad have had covid already so should be ok. Imagine they could do prep for the match over zoom or whatever, or with his assistants there still

I thought it was all advisory now rather than mandatory. It's literally a cold.. I had it in March and apart from feeling tired for a week it was minor. The whole isolate so you don't spread it isn't relevant anymore anyway considering it's rife throughout the country. I don't know anybody who hasn't had it now, whereas three months ago I still knew plenty who hadn't had it. Life needs to go on. Conte will brush it off, sure he'd have been tripple jabbed too.
Well, let me tell you, for me, it is a very, very bad cold, but then, I'm classified as vulnerable and the rules have to take into account us old, sick people as well as young, healthy ones.
This is why the isolation and mask-wearing are still relevant, especially for a patient-facing health practitioner like me, who sees extremely vulnerable patients every working day.
Of course, this shouldn't affect the very healthy footballers in our squad.
Nor Antonio Conte or any of his staff.

Of course, I know someone who died from covid as many of us do so I do not take it lightly, but my 93 year old gran caught it two weeks ago and she was fine, both my elderly parents had it last week and were fine, my point is life needs to go on now as for 99% of society it's just a cold. In the same way, flu can kill vulnerable people or someone who is unlucky but we don't isolate for that beyond the obvious stay at home if you are really unwell.

I don't want to derail this, just my point was for Conte I am sure it will be nothing to him at all and seeing as it's so rife throughout society anyway, I see no reason why he should need to miss the game on Saturday beyond him not feeling well enough to actually attend..

A family friend who’s in his 80s, diabetic, disabled, triple heart bypass, you name it he suffers from it. Went into hospital for a minor operation. He picked it up in there, and shook it off in 5 days.

The vaccines don’t just work, they work incredibly well.

Just a cheeky edit to your post. Best out to your mate :).

I had it last week- I felt like I'd been hit by a train. Tested positive for 12 days. I'm active and not classed vulnerable. It affects people differently.

Fingers crossed he hasn’t passed it onto the players…as far as I know, Kane hasn’t had covid yet…?
I was watching the training video from last week and they were still doing the practice of shaking hands with everyone. I would of thought they’d have knocked that on the head under the circumstances. The video showed Conte touching hands with loads of players.

It does. I tested positive a couple of months back, and I only tested because two lads I'd been out with the weekend had tested positive. I had zero symptoms other than a bit of a blocked nose. Two days later I was testing negative. A nurse we know said it was likely that I'd had it without knowing and given it to them, with how quickly I'd tested positive to negative.

I had my bad symptoms over 10 days ago but went for a 30 minute walk yesterday and was absolutely floored for hours afterward with a racing heart rate and light headedness. Still feel off today, achy all over with chest tightness. Will continue resting I guess but no telling how it will affect anyone. I had three shots and am under 40. My partner had it at the same time and is totally fine now.

If you don't mind me asking, what have you had vaccine wise?

I've had it 4 times. First was bad. Took me 3 months to properly get over it. 2nd time was minor. 3rd time asymptomatic. 4th time was a heavy cold which took about 7 days to recover.

I had three Pfizers. Canada rolled out one and two in spring/summer 2021. I had my “booster” in December 2021.
Of all the people I know who are jabbed up and have had it, the worst cases have all been from those who have had the same vaccine in all their jabs be it Pfizer or AZ etc. It definitely looks, from my POV at least, like a cocktail of the jabs has a better outcome for those who get it.

It’s interesting and jibes with what I’ve seen anecdotally too. I’ll be trying for Moderna whenever we roll out the fourth jab here.

Can't pretent to care about Covid (fucking invincible ain't I, I'm stuck on this fucking planet) but I'm one of those supposed high risk people, so have had both vaccinations (Pfizer) and have the booster which, to my surprise was Moderna (I think that's spelt right?).

When I questioned the pharmacist doing my booster about why I'm getting a booster that's different to the 2 previous vaccinations. He said almost exactly what you're saying.

He kind of dumbed it down for me (fuck you all) but he basically said my body being introduced to as many variables as possible would be what would be better in the long term.

I Didn't actually give a shit. But it was nice to know.

Edit : Everyone should take Vitamin D supplements. So many people I know have had Covid, but not me. And the nurses when I'm in hospital all say the same thing. They know loads of people who have not been vaccinated, yet have been around People who have tested positive. And they've all been on Vitamin D.

Get yourself on the Amazon link at the top/bottom of your screen & buy yourself a years supply for less than a ten spot.

I’ve not had it and kind of feel a bit left out now ;) :D…..

…. In all seriousness it clearly affects different people in different ways and I imagine it will take a good while for the scientific community to figure out why.

My daughter got it from school right before Xmas ( great timing  ) and then a few days later passed it on to my missus.

I managed to dodge it though and although I was washing my hands like a maniac I was still in close proximity.

Maybe the booster I had a couple of weeks before did the trick, maybe I had it before it became a pandemic, maybe my immune system of different or maybe I was just lucky. Who knows?
