It’s no wonder attendances are so low, just watching MOTD and Cardiff vs Carlisle is played out in front of empty stands. The trouble is, the gap between the top clubs and the rest is such that there’s no real chances of a smaller team winning the cup these days, and even if they did the rewards are so meagre that the likes of Villa, or West Ham are better off resting players to try and ensure their league survival, ditto those in the championship.

The FA Cup can’t compete with the riches of the league anymore sadly.

They have neighbours who are mental shattered against them. Villa smashed this side off the park. It’s very unlikely anymore than one or two of this young side will go on to become regulars for the first team
