In terms of tackling roughly 60 games next season, I don’t think we can do much better than Sess and Kostic. Would be extremely happy if those were our LWB options. Perfect mix of youth and experience, and with Kostic’s age and Sess’ injury history, neither should be playing two games a week very often.

Agreed, it’s also why I think a guy like Carrasco makes sense from a squad perspective. That versatility to play in 2 of the 3 attacking positions or as a wingback would be incredibly valuable should Sess’ injury concerns creep back up. Don’t know how reasonable that really is, but I’d love to see it happen as it seems like we held a real interest last summer.

Real Madrid and Barca? That’s who he’s linked with.
Well there's linked with and there's genuine interest. Besides Barca don't have that sort of money and Real already have a set fee for him but I doubt they take him back.

Getting kostic is a really smart signing, particularly as he complements sessegnon so well. Key to this becoming effective will be signing a rwb who is adept at attacking the back post- to get in the end of the crosses kostic can fire in.
players like Dumfries and singo (and spence to a point) really fit the bill here. Doherty is also really useful in these situations

7 goals and 15 assists in all competitions this season is super impressive. Those 20/21 assist numbers are what I'm hoping he hits with us.

Bastoni, this guy, bissouma, eriksen...

It seems we are really going for elite players now. No fucking potential or question marks. Just class.

Probably going to be the best transfer window ever.

I'm sure there's a Carlsberg reference in there somewhere

Seems to make a lot of sense as a signing along with Forster, Eriksen and Spence. Some key early signings that don’t cost the Earth and can let us focus on LCB, CM and CF for the rest of the summer

For me its a no brainer. Attacking wing back that is a goal scoring threat that is ready now bought on the cheap. We could actually end up with more money after selling Reguilón. Always question marks about a player adapting to a new league but Sessegnon is growing in confidence so would not be a disaster.

Do we think this deal is dead in the water now we have Perisic?
For me, I’d still like to see and additional LWB if Reguillon goes. Given the demand Conte places on his WB’s, there’s bound to be injuries across the season, and I’m not sure the depth we have in the development/academy is within the levels Conte would use. Having 5 Senior wingbacks could get us around this, especially with Perisic and to a a lesser extent Doherty, reasonably comfortable on either flank. Plus Kostic and Perisic could play as a wide forward if required. Carrasco would be a decent alternative to Kostic for the same reason.

RWB - Emerson/Doherty, Spence, Perisic
LWB - Kostic, Sessegnon, Perisic

Would love it to happen but there's been no suggestion we're still interested. Has gone cold since the day of reports that we were apparently lining up a bid. Could only really see it if we intend to use Perisic on the right but I don't think that's the case.

With bergwijn probably leaving I think there could be plenty of room for Kostic even if we land Perisic. Really hope we go for both!

We have Perisic, Sess and still need to find a buyer for Reguilon. Our priority right now should be getting rid of a LB not signing one.

Think the chances of us spending 15-20m on another LB - especially an experienced one who would want first team football - are zero.

If we were to bring someone in it would surely be a utility player - someone like Milner who can cover multiple positions in midfield, full back, etc.

One of the ITKs, I think it was Trix, said it was an either/or situation. Perisic or Kostic.

Edit: Herc confirmed it was him. Apologies, Herc.

We don’t need 3 LWBs , would kill sessegnons development

With the 5 sub rule and us in the CL, i think 3 WB for each side could be a perfect amount, especially if the WBs can play in other positions as well. An injury wont be a complete disaster, and Conte can sub in fresh legs for WB at his leisure each game.
