Saw this from a poster on redcafe but he's spot on, just show even other club fans can see it.

I'm not sure Conte was ever truly in the cards given their financial situation and the amount of surgery need on their roster. But they absolutely could have, and should have, sold Kane and just turned the keys over to someone like Potter or Ten Hag and told them to rebuild the squad.

The core problem at Spurs is that from the chairman down to the supporters they are all a bit delusional about the club's talent level. Beyond Kane and Son, there really just isn't a lot of higher end talent on the roster. In particular, they have almost none of the players you'd need to play a more progressive, technical football. They don't have any CBs who are particularly good with the ball. Their CMs are really poor technically, except for N'Dombele, but he has the worst engine in the PL, which is basically just disqualifying. Maybe Skipp will be good enough to build around but everybody else in midfield I'd be looking to move on from. And they quite literally don't have a real #10 or wide playmaker on the roster (Lo Celso really isn't one, as you can see from his total lack of end product) so they don't have players who are threats in attack but also can drop into midfield, give them solutions in possession when they are running out of ideas, and just generally be secure with the ball. The spine of their team simply can't play with the ball.

Jose Mourinho isn't an idiot. He saw this too and set the team up to play the only way it possibly might be successful.

But really they should just be looking to hire a new manager next summer and committing to a true rebuild.
This is, depressingly, correct.

With the exception of Lloris, Son and Kane (well, the player previously known as Kane), if you sneakily inserted any of our usual first team onto the team sheet of say, Watford, nobody would bat an eyelid. They'd look perfectly at home. And Watford are probably going to be in a relegation scrap this season. That's no disrespect to Watford either. They could easily have beaten us a few weeks ago.

So that's where we are. Watford quality players being often outplayed by actual Watford. Nuno could no more create a title challenging side with us than he could do with them.

Funny how good our Watford quality players were at their previous clubs, how good they still are for their countries, and how good they’ll inevitably be for their next clubs after leaving us.

I've been advocating for Nuno to be given time because of the circumstances and I always expect angry spurs fans to have enough after a few games but it is concerning when the likes of Carra are questioning him after 6 games
Is it a perfect opportunity to get Gallardo? stars are aligning .

Won’t get any easier after the break either with LoC Sanchez and Romero not due back until late October

Nuno doesn't play Lo Celso and Romero anyway :ROFLMAO:

I am gobsmacked that he doesn't have Romero in every game - the guy was the best defender in Serie A last year.

I think our problems sit between both sides of this as yes they are or should be better than what they are showing but for reasons various they have not bought into the manager.

People wax lyrical about him. Is he currently available ? I was told he doesn't;t speak English - is that the case ?

We have a lot of Spanish-speaking players and Bielsa doesn't speak a word of English.

I doubt it would be too much of an issue.

I just want a bit of passion back on the touchline after Jose and Nuno - give me Gallardo any day of the week.

Agree. But no way Levy and Paratici are adventurous and daring enough to go for someone like that if Nuno goes.

What I don’t understand is, why did Levy appoint a DOF who wants defensive football after saying we needed to go back to our DNA. Aside from that, Fabs only previous managerial appointment was an unmitigated disaster. Levy should have made it abundantly clear to whoever we brought in as DOF that he wanted us to be an attacking team.

That would require some very basic joined up thinking and, dare I say it, some sort of coherent strategy though. Far too much to hope for under the current leadership I'm afraid.

Why ? Do you think they would go European only ? Do you think they would only go for PL experience ?

I think that we had two options
- rebuild with kids ,getting young manager and accepting that we may well be low in a table for next 2 years
-get a winner as manager and spend big next 2 windows.

Problem is that levy wants Europe now, him and Hitch over rate our squad , they though that with ETH or Conte at helm we can challenge with minor tweaks.

Paratici knows whot we have , from his perspective pragmatic football is only way to get us close to Europe now. Kind off hybrid model. That bollock about DNA are biting us in ass now. We dont have players to play anything else than counter. Nuno can get boys in shape to do 90 minutes of pressing , get us to do clever set pieces and patterns for counter and reorganise defence.

No, I think Levy will go for whoever will tow the line and take the blame when it goes wrong a few months later. Let's be honest, I don't think anyone felt excited to have Nuno as the manager but we all hope to be wrong. Not looking like we are though.

when you have very respected analysts like Carra (regardless of your opinion on him as a person - he’s very well spoken and knows his stuff) are already saying they don’t think nuno is the right fit, the writing is on the wall.
