Apparently Meulensteen's contract hasn't been terminated yet, so technically they've got two managers.

IF we decide to appoint Louis Van Gaal in the summer I really hope Levy looks at appointing Rene Meulensteen as a coach to work along side him. Meulensteen might not be the best manager but is a very good coach and think it would be a great advantage to have a fellow Dutchman working along side LVG who has worked in the league.

Do people still want van Gaal to replace Sherwood?

What a total disgrace. He's just started to get them playing. Holtby in, Mitroglou in, Heitinga in, Dempsey in and the man is not even given a month to turn it around. The most disappointed players will be the 2 united lads who may have only joined because of the prospect of working with their old boss. Fulham FC. What jokes.

There were rumours they would sack him weeks ago. You've got to wonder what he's done that made them do this so quickly.

I think it is his attitude towards competition and results,... when you see his after mach interviews with ALL those losses, he's laughing it off with a bit of a "whatever" attitude. He was a strange appointment to begin with... look how he takes getting sacked:

Meulensteen, who won four of 17 games in charge, told BBC Sport: "They have hit the panic button on emotion and fear - but hey ho, that's football."

Leads me to believe that he doesn't really care as he gets paid either way... Hey ho, whatever,... I get paid anyway... :greedy:

Fulham is a mess right now, but letting meulensteen go might help - can't remember a similar situation to compare this to...

I don't like Muelensteen and I don't know why.

because he's like a used auto salesman or bookie,... doesn't care what you get, good or bad, because he gets his payday either way,.... even seems to mock you a little when you get the bad end of the deal... :greedy:

I thought they'd have stayed up under Rene tbh. Baffling really, they looked pretty united on the pitch.

Wonder if he'd have gone if Reither hadn't had that moment of idiocy?

just curious, why would you think they would stay up with rene? he has virtually no head coaching record to base that on and was only with the club a few weeks before he was given the job.... no biggy

As soon as this happened this reminded me of the NFL, when a team is having a bad season and sack a manager more than once like the raiders in the past

Well they've had a bad start under him but sometimes a manager needs a bit of time to get things right. At Utd despite predictable tactics they still defended well as a unit and on Wednesday were unlucky not to come away with the 3 points never mind 1. Just thought their squad is too good to go down. Mitroglou could be make or break for them.

He has had a lot of success as well TBF. I can see why people might see Magath and LVG as being similar, both have won trophy's, both tough taskmasters, and both seem to have short term impacts but the wheels then fall off.
