It’s been in the pipeline for so long. Suspect there was a handshake agreement or maybe even a contractual one allowing him to go if he stayed another year. Happens much more often in Italy than here with the closer relationships between chairman of clubs and also agents.
I believe this to be the case. I just wrote in the Bastoni thread but it seems like a combination of factors has allowed this deal to happen.

Bremer extended with Torino purely as a favor so they could get some more money. In exchange, they wouldn't stop him from leaving by asking for a ridiculous fee, and he would be able to join the club of his choice - which, thank Christ - seems to be Inter.

Additionally, Torino need to replace the outgoing Belotti and they seem keen on Inter's Pinamonti. So there's some more leverage there.

As you say, this happens a lot in Italy. Relationships between club CEO's and Sporting Directors is immensely important and as a result, these club officials attain much more public notoriety too. For example, I can name pretty much every CEO and Sporting Director / Technical Director in Serie A but only a handful outside of Italy. In England they have a much lower profile and things are done much more "by the book".

This probably explains why we are so busy in the Italian market compared to other English clubs, not that it seems to help us much when dealing with Inter specifically.

I'm gonna ask what feels like a stupid question... why isn't this guy capped for Brazil?

Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Militao etc.

Think the manager predominantly picks players at the bigger clubs so once he goes Inter then he will get one

Whilst Bremer is an excellent defender I think its clear Contes preference is a left footed centre back that can carry the ball into midfield and contribute to progressive phases of play.

I'm all for Bremer but he'd be in the central or right side of a 3 CB formation every time imo.

At Chelsea Conte signed Rudiger and played him at LCB so there is some precedence there.

Go balls out for this bloke, just to piss Inter off if anything.
Him being a very good CB is a nice touch too I guess

A brilliant example that a right footed player can play that role.

As I said I'm all for Bremer. It just seems we are looking at a different profile for our LCB option.

Bremer and Torres (or n'dicka but I haven't heard any interest in him) would be decent, if Bastoni is officially over.
