with foriegn refs we would be well in with a good chance

no ****webb or clatten**** bias

Maybe we can get a Scottish ref??? We could ask Neil Lennon to recommend one maybe.

Bless gHoddle! He may come out with some barking ideas, but you ave to love im. I cant believe he is not managing in England.

Liam Brady on Irelands RTE said Spurs could go all the way in both champions league and premier league although he said it was killing him to say it he said he enjoys watching Spurs play still think my ears have deceived me!!!!

We have more chance in the CL than the PL. I can't see us getting anywhere near the consistency that Chelsea and United normally gain post-xmas.
I have always fancied our chances (though at 3-0 at YB I did have big doubts) in the CL because of the slower pace and the fact that most teams try to play football unlike some of the weaker PL teams who try to batter us into submission.

As a side note the mention of Liam Brady (what a great player) always brings back visions of the 0-5 that ruined my xmas back in 1978. Boy was he good.

Right. We can deal with assnal and ride our luck at times against even the Spanish giants. Still not convinced the players have the minerals to go to the bridge or OT and get it done.

The only two teams I fear right now are Real madrid and Marseille...Madrid, well Mourinho, are clever and brilliant as well as prepared to play a boring game to deny us...Marseille seem to play without fear...like us...it would be a terrific match, that's for sure...I think we could take Chelski and Man U...the key is to avoid anyone until the quarters and then hope we can get a good draw and watch a couple of giants meet each other. We will not meet another british team until the quarters if we get there. I think it's odds on that we will end up playing one of those three providing they all go through...

I think we can get to the Semis if we can get the right draw.

The only team I fear us playing are Manchester United, because we always bottle it against them. Real Madrid would be tricky too.

I think Barcelona Vs Tottenham would be the dream final for any neutral, both teams who attack rather than defend! Just imagine us lining up against Barcelona at Wembley.....again:razz:

Exactly. The right draws could see us into the semi-final. It would be damage limitation away from home, and then a the big atmosphere at the Lane in the second leg. And then into the final

getting ahead of ourselves lads, Inter will demolish Werder with ease and we have a tough away day in Holland were we need a win or we could fuck around and get Barca or Madrid in the rd of 16

At home we can beat anybody. We just need to try and get a result away from home. We're capable of going a long way. We got through the group stage without Dawson and for the most part King and Defoe aswell. With those 3 back and 100% come the last 16 we'll be very strong.

Inter havnt won away from home this season in the CL, they drew 2-2 and lost to us, so they may not Demolish Werder

I agree, though we havnt dont really bad away from home since Young Boys, we had a bad half agaisnt Inter but with 10 men almost came back, and drew 2-2 away after being 2-0 up, if we just defend better and stay with 10 men i think we will be fine

I think we can win against any of the English teams. We've beaten Chelsea & Arsenal this year and a two legged cup game is very different to a normal league game anyway. Having the second leg at The Lane would be a huge advantage though.

it's a good ploy but I think we'll be made to play someone

I've seen less talented teams than Spurs go-on to win Europe's top club competition.

After beating the current European Champions, we really don't have anyone to fear.

After all, we weren't supposed to be in the competition in the first place, were we?

Oh, we're in the competition. We just won't get past the play-offs/group stages/beat Inter/win at The Emirates... I can't remember what we can't do next...

Glenda also said that if we could improve in the full-back areas we could really push on which I agree with

RB could be improved I think, but I'm more than happy with BAE. I think his understanding with Bale has played a huge part in GB developing into the unstoppable force that he is today.
