I am on multiple referee forums and multiple referee blogs and that penalty kick goes against everything we have been shown through dozens of videos and examples from FIFA during the last couple of years.

I would have expected VAR to remove the penalty kick had it been given on the field not the other way around.

My hot prediction that'll be proven embarassingly wrong is that Portugal are going to lose every game. Think they've had a really disastrous tournament coming for some years now, and the Ronaldo controversy/form combined with Santos' inflexibility might just be a perfect storm.

In my defence, I wasn't assuming they'd get a free penalty every game.

(They weren't good against Ghana and they've been *fine* here. Assumed Uruguay would be much more efficient mind. I cannot wait til they get knocked out. Bellends.)

Yeah and Sonny's the one I worry about most with this.
Been in poor form, had a bad injury and thought he may not make it at all, then hasn't been able to perform at all with the pressure of a nation on him.
He's a confidence player so I hope he gets a good rest and gets his head right for the rest of the season.
