I'm guessing Winks would stay. Why I'm guessing that is that if Spurs signs no further CMs, Winks will get loads of game time next season. It would Winks and Per-Emil Højbjerg, more than or.

no... just no stop selling key to mid team players to rivals... the kyle walker sale was bad enough ffs.. levy should of be chased out of town after that sale.. was embarassing to a key rival when was also a top 3/4 team.

I’m amazed, I posted with my head not my heart, making an argument with statistics not emotions. Sentimentality won’t win trophies, and analytically I cannot understand what Winks brings to the table. Other than being “One Of Our Own”, and being homegrown?!

I’d rather have him in the squad and complain he’s not good enough rather than have £40m and see him doing well elsewhere.
Bet your arse that if that did happen and he did well at another club that the revisionism on here would be a glorious sight to behold.

Not sure how he'd play under a very good manager who would improve him and play with world class players as well as hoover up a load of trophies.

Since when does Guardiola improves players? Most of his players are already world class by the time they become available to his coaching.

it's all bollox. I was at the press conference. Pep said that it should be obvious to any reporter that knows his salt which midfielder he'll be signing next... and then he winked.

Sterling, Jesus, Sane, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Laporte, Walker, Foden to name a few.

And even if you are world class that doesn't mean you don't get better.

Winks is a solid squad member, solid rotation option but not starting 11 material. Always sell backups for 40m, doubt it's true though.

As Mourinho pointed out at the time, Spurs possibly thought Trippier was better. Southgate obviously now agrees. So the damage to our first team strength primarily came from Trips’ unexpected and temporary decline.

The question was really whether to trade our (ridiculous) depth at RB for £50m. I don’t think we’ve ever been able to pay £50m for depth.

But there is an argument that he does improve teams and the way they play.

He does always makes his teams play prettier, but that doesn't necessarily means he improves on them.

With Barcelona and Bayern, results should have been much better, and both times he had the base of the world champions. With City the results should have only been a bit better (they were amazing on the league, but they are once again falling short on the CL).

He may polish them to his way of playing, but that doesn't mean he improves them. They still clearly have a weak mentality.
