What do you want?
Don’t read the media crap then, the vast majority of which is sensationalist click bait bullshit written by someone who has no idea what’s going just to make pwleople click and read.

On both a pragmatic and emotional level i think the right thing to do would be to let Kane go if a suitable offer is made.
Levy has a good track record in this so I think things will end well.

Pragmatic reasons:
1) Sell well and everyone is happy.
2) Kane or no Kane we need a total rebuild if we were to get into CL.
3) Euro-year tends to be when high-profile players come back injured or/and and take ages to get in form

Emotional reasons:
1) Kane has been a model professional and is the best player to not be directly involved in CL; neutrals will say he deserves better.
2) Kane is a Spurs legend and no matter where he goes this will be his main legacy; so it would be nice to see 'one of our own' scale new heights in his career, as we cannot provide him with that platform now.

I provide also a counter-argument to the common reasons for why we should make him stay

Reason 1) Since we are aiming to get into CL selling to a rival would mean strengtehning them
Argument 1) Above follows if we are anywhere close to being competitive but the numbers over a season doesn't lie; we are 7th despite having 2 of the most productive players up-front. This is unheard of.

Reason 2) We wont be able to replace him.
Argument 2) This is true and my view is we wont be able to replace him over 1 summer; gonna need a few if we are lucky. Given he has signed a long contract it is within our right to do so too. However I feel that on balance and given where we are at, provided we dont lose Son (in which case we are looking at relegation battle) I would take a blip of a season. Just seems the honorable thing to do.
Good track record.... things end well. You were impressed by the shit fest that was the players brought in with the Bale money then?

I am looking forward to Soldado mk2 lighting up the place next season then.

Sorry, I was talking about Harry Kane in the Harry Kane thread and the assertion that he hasn't won any trophies here or turned up in our finals.
I think most haven't turned up in finals and Kane always seems to be injured going into them. I just think it's harsh on him considering how well he's done. Even in the CL his record is excellent. We just seem to be holding out for Kane to carry us over the line a bit too much. Very rarely does one top player carry a team to titles. It takes several match winners and our other ones like Son or Eriksen haven't turned up either.

From a Man City perspective and also the type of player they go for it doesn’t make sense for them to go for Kane over Haaland but we all know there’s no sense in football.
I think City would if Utd come for him. They would jump at Kane to stop Utd getting him similar to what Utd did to them with Berbatov.

I don't get this exactly. They paid £60m for Kyle Walker when that sort of amount was still obscene because its what they needed at the time. They now need a number 9 and the best one in the league is available......

£60 million is different from £150 million

I wouldn't say he's available. No more than anyone else is available but for a price they can be signed. Even Barca couldn’t keep Neymar when 200m was on the table. Its the same for Kane or pretty much most players outside City, Chelsea and PSG who can withstand those type of offers. Grealish isn't available either but if City offer enough he will be.

I agree with that, if I was them I'd be signing Haaland also. Fingers crossed.

Guys - if City get Haaland, he'll go to Utd. It's fairly simple IMO.

Man U are all over the place. City are going to dominate no matter what, I'd almost rather he went there

Yet after Bale left we did grow in the end, and some of those players ended up quite good for us, or useful for a time at least, and a few of them gave us decent transfer fees as well. The problem for me isn't if Kane stays or goes this season. We keep him great, we should hold out for a good fee that we set. But the point is that there reaches a point where you either keep him and lose a chance of getting money to reinvest entirely or a big chunk of that or you sell him. He has three seasons left on his contract,

We will probably lose at least 50 million a year by keeping him of that fee, now that might be fine for us if we choose that's what we want to do, but I'm not sure it's the best thing for us. The best thing for us is either get him to buy into the project and commit or command one of the biggest ever transfer fees for a player either this season or next.

I just don't see him going to Utd. I know they are playing well but they still aren't the Utd of old. Going to City which guarantees titles and playing under Pep I can see the allure but throwing away your legacy to play for Ole? Not feeling it.

If Kane went to Utd, you’d have to question his motives. Nothing is guaranteed there.
I’ve reached apathy with it all, anyway.

Part of me wants him to stay. Part of me thinks allowing Kane to leave is a necessary evil for a completely fresh start with a new squad.

I don’t want players at our club if their hearts aren’t in it. It’s a simple as that, for me, because that’s what we have been sorely lacking - some heart and some determination.

I’d quite like to see the rule book torn to shreds, have a massive shake up and go into next season screaming “fuck the world!”

Hopefully with some proper coaching we’ll be able to compete to a point.

I’ve said before. I don’t want big name players on hundreds of thousands per week. I want players that want to wear our shirt and by hook or by crook will give everything for it.

Something to actually get behind. To see the team giving everything week in week out, I think most fans would be happy with and we’d overlook a few bad results along the way.

New project time, for me. Rip it up and start again. A “brave new world.”

There is a slight difference, Barce quite literally couldn't keep Neymar, as that was his release clause, this is a little different.

Also according to Philippe Auclair he heard that the numbers being talked about for Grealish were in the region of 60-80m and that Aston Villa might well sell, because of well, considerable outlay last two windows, they lost 100m in 2019/2020, will have lost more this season and their wage to turnover is pretty awful too.

I might be pessimistic but i have a feeling spurs will announce the manager after Kane goes to try and ease the anger when he leaves. This is not what i want but sadly i fear this will happen. Not optimistic for next season.
