OK you win, let's delay it for a year.The idea that we should move out the most complete striker on the literal entire planet Earth because he only had a year left and might be worth some money now instead has always seemed mental to me, and to be honest a little spoiled as if the expectation is that we can make something better from the situation. This is football. This is Tottenham. There is no world in which we are better off without Harry Kane, even a half-arsed one. £100M windfall is no good here as we can afford already the players we need and any anyone for that type of serious money won't come here anyway. Not this season.
Throw at him the Florida Man trip all you like but he was entirely present when he got over himself, and we'll see the same again this year even if he does have his eyes elsewhere. It's who he is. He wants the goals above all. It's what he lives for. We're talking about actually one of the best players in world football, regardless of what is thrown at the bloke. Maybe the most complete player the country has ever produced. We should do everything to keep him for just another match, even if it costs us losing him for nothing, because we won't see another like him probably as long as we live, especially through our academy.
