Agree. Honestly think the people arguing otherwise are just trying to make themselves feel better about him leaving
Thing is I'm not going to mope about it if he goes. I'll get behind what ever team we put out just like I always have.

If he goes he goes that's football and I've accepted that decades ago. That doesn't mean I can't think it was the wrong decision to let it happen.

Different opinions and all, and as I've already said no one regardless of the argument could convince me we would be better off without him.

Not trying to convince you. No right or wrong when none of us have a crystal ball.

I certainly get what you're saying.

But I'm looking at it slightly longer term, on the premise Kane won't sign, as just simply we're better off with him in the side for this season.

From that point of view I'd agree with you, we are.

If I thought Levy would show the ambition needed to convince him to sign I'd be all over it.

But he won't and never has.

With that in mind I'm looking at getting on with life without him ASAP and him ending up outside the PL, and ending the saga.

If he stays you think that won't end?...it'll be relentless.

We could end up in the top 4 next season if he stays, but there's a fair chance we won't with how competitive it is now.

We then end up getting nothing for him and a years delay in adjusting to life without him.

We could still finish top 4 without him with the necessary strengthening at the back.

I know that should be happening anyway but I don't trust the Club to get the necessary quality in.

That's just not true - Firmino has a far better pressing ability & work rate than Kane, which was totally necessary for Klopp's 'heavy metal' football. In the past seasons, United and Chelsea have been linked with Kane as well as City, of course. Liverpool never were because he wasn't ideally suited to their style of play and it likely would have had a detrimental effect on their overall game. Kane is an absolutely unbelievable player, but he can't magic up physical attributes that he doesn't possess out of thin air.
Kane would have taken Klopp’s Liverpool to another level. I’m quite sure Klopp knows it even of you don’t

City wanted him and they press just as well

Your comments smack of a defence mechanism. I’ll be gutted if he does go, but I’m not going to invest reasons why it’s a good thing ahead of time to delude myself. Kane can play on any system, and he’s one of the best players in the world. You month prefer the cash, but stop trying to tell yourself it’s somehow a benefit on the pitch if he leaves. It isn’t
If Kane stays and seamlessly fits into Ange's system, scoring 30+ goals and carrying the team to the CL I'll be happy as anyone and keeping him will be fully justified. Bloody hope that happens as it would be the best outcome for every Spurs fan.

Just don't think it's gonna happen, personally.

He'll do great I'm sure but not "£100m for one season" great. And then he'll leave and probably end up at United after the Danish kid flops.

It's a big loss and another reminder that we can't push onto the next level under this owner. We'll just keep going round in circles losing world class players when they want to win things. Still going to look forward to the new look team without him. It's just a shame we didn't win anything with him and without him our chances to do so get even lower.

I think you’re creating a straw man argument with all respect, my point was guardiola has adapted to play with a striker who is pretty much the opposite of how he thinks football should be played, haaland imo doesn’t get involved in build up play, which pep is all about, but thrives off his constant runs and movement
My point is that Pep has adjusted his system almost to one that is similar to Ange's (not saying he copied, sir!) and that's why Haaland has thrived. Two years ago, Haaland would have been less suited in the previous system that Pep wanted Kane for. And that is what I was trying to get at (in my bumbling way)

If he stays, loves playing for Ange and signs a new contract then hallelujah, but if his hearts gone, he should go totoo.
That seems to be the most obscure thing in all of this. No one really knows what Kane wants.
And I mean that in the sense that he is not 100% pushing to leave, nor is he 100% committing to staying.

I'm sure its not, but maybe he is happy with either outcome.

As I said, I’ve no problem with people preferring the cash. I disagree but it’s a perfectly reasonable opinion. My issue is saying he doesn’t fit Ange’s system, like we are somehow better off without him: it’s insanity

Can't believe that some seem to think that we've signed up another "system manager" who is just going to play their same strategy over and over regardless of the cards...and are backing that idea!

If Ange is going to do another Conte then he can walk for all I care. But I don't think that he is that type of manager, thankfully. If we have Kane next year then I think that he'll work the system to get the best out of him, because he'd be insane to not, and I'd back him to not be that stubborn.

Ending the circus around him moving is the only positive, having all this bollocks for another year aint good for anyone

my head is spinning from the back and forth between Spurs and BM as well as in this thread between the club being better off with or without him.

Which was my point too tbh mate, pep’s pretty dogmatic but when it comes to the best players in the world they adapt, as I believe Ange would’ve done for k
