Jose surely has to have a phone call with Southgate & Kane, he simply cannot be risked in either match.
He shouldn’t have gone, full stop. I get how exciting it is to play for the National Team but you have to think long term. The guy is still coming off a very difficult injury and has played a ton of games in the last three weeks. The best thing to do for the guy is to look after his long term health. Two weeks at the lodge training, resting and getting some reps with Sonny and Bale would be better for him and selfishly us.
Yes, I am super biased, I admit that. But i love our club and Harry. We have seen what happens when he gets overplayed. So, I wish Southgate had actually been the grown up here and told Kane to stand down for this international window.

Bring him back, Jose. I suppose the fact that Sonny, Bale and Vinicius will have had a couple of weeks training together might soften the blow but goddamn we can't lose Kane. Mourinho has done so well to manage the squad over the last few weeks, if we lose one or more players for any amount of time because of these goddamn ponced up friendlies... :cautious:
Yup, it’s bullshit that Jose managed to navigate Kane through such a mental period and now Southgate has managed to put a dent in him after a couple of training sessions. The man is a total amateur.

Harry Kane didn’t play any preseason matches. He needs games to build on his fitness. I really have no problem with him starting matches for England.

Also all this talk of Kane ‘breaking down’ the last few years from ‘overplaying my is revisionist. The first injury he got that could be related to overplaying was when he did his hamstring at Xmas. Every other injury he’s had that kept him out for a period time have been impact injuries which to his ankles that have nothing to do with playing a lot of games.

Even impact injuries can be attributed to muscular fatigue caused by over working. When the tendons and ligaments are overworked they become more elastic and tend to provide less support to bones and joints so an awkward fall would result in a serious injury and inflammation.

It's like the notion of overstretching before a heavy workout. You create too much elasticity when your body also needs to be capable of creating tension

Furthermore, if Kane is not recovering adequately from his exertions his muscles, joints, ligaments, will all be inflammed and that could cause tears or pulls for impacts as his body creates imbalances by compensating for weaknesses (like running awkwardly because of a pain but getting an injury as a result). These types of injury are very common

I don’t thinks this is serious at all from what I am reading and Southgate clearly feels he might be ready mid week otherwise he would release him.

I do wonder if after the West Ham game Jose might consider giving him a couple of weeks off - the PL games those next 3 weeks are very manageable and it would be good to give Vinicius some proper exposure.

England should be able to beat Denmark without Harry Kane technically speaking, Its not a one man team and the the way the press have been jizzing over Calvert it shouldnt be a problem right? lol!!! England have Ings and the new media love-in Calvert so i dont see an issue technically especially as Ings is and has been on form since last season and he is at the right age in terms of peak performance and maturity. There is no point risking Kane at all for that game, he is already missing Bel game who are ranked No 1 and Denmark ranked 16th so again shouldnt be a huge miss technically but of course any team that misses Kane is a miss, but this shouldnt be the end of the world for Southgate. Maybe im a tad biased as we need Kane for an important season in more ways than one, but if we cant beat a team ranked 16th when we are 4th without harry then there is major problems Southgate has irrespective of Kane not being there.

It seems we are all starting to sound like Liverpool and United supporters. Who would have thought?

If it was anything more than a twinge he'd already be out of the squad for the 2 remaining games. He'll be fine for West Ham.

While I understand your point- Harry has said many thimes that he wants to break English records and by playing this week he could get loads of goals. Heaven forbid that he gets really injured- but he will want to play and he is the captain etc.

If that's the case then it's not serious, which is exactly my point.

If England are insisting on keeping him in the squad then it's a non-story. Someone with his injury history would be pulled out of the squad straight away if it was anything potentially serious.

Kane is captain of his country. I’d imagine playing for England is his number 1 priority and the thing he takes most pride in. We have Vinicius, Son, Bergwijn and Bale. Let’s all just chill.

If Kane doesn’t play any part, in both NT games, then I think that he’d likely not start against Spam (although he may be on the bench).

Of course we cannot deny Kane from playing for England.
But just like Spurs need to manage his fitness, so do England.
I get the feeling that Gary Southgate is trying to act up as Billy Big Boy towards Mourinho...

Glad you are not in charge as we'd lose all our top players when they start demanding moves. Going into the international break Kane was fully fit, bang in form and England captain chasing down his country's all time scoring record. He will be desperate to play for England. The fact he did not play in the friendly was a bonus. If he misses the Belgium game too it is because both he and the England team doctors are being sensible. You have to trust your star players and let them represent their country. Hopefully Mourinho will be able to rest and rotate players when they need it and Kane will realise if he plays in every England game then Vinicius will be ready to play the next club game for Spurs in his place if he comes back fatigued.

Blaming Southgate and England when it was in training is just pathetic. He did what you all wanted and didn't involve him v Wales. Could have easily happened while training with the club. Anyway if it was that bad he would have withdrawn, which he hasn't.
