Absolutely. Harry was great last night. But Sterling just edged him. Was dangerous almost every time he got the ball. Scared the Denmark defence silly.

Sterling's direct running was impressive and very dangerous. But he did miss an absolute sitter just before we scored our first. The commentators put it down to a great save by their GK, but in reality anyone stood in the middle of goal would have saved it as Sterling hit it straight at the keeper at waist height!

I've been saying this to my mates for a while now on this "COVID market value" it's not the selling club's problem if a proposed buyer has had their revenues hit (not that it matters to City). The seller is under no pressure nor obligation to open their legs and sell for a discounted price just cause the other team is skint. Something we too will no doubt learn as the buying club this summer ?
It potentially has an impact on the selling club too. All clubs revenues have been hit hard and some clubs will need to sell to see them through.
Some will be forced into selling below market value (or at COVID market value) due to their own financial predicament

Really it’s folly to pick holes in either originally (though I do agree with what you’re saying) as over 120 minutes, along with Walker, Schmeichel and Højbjerg, they were the best players on the pitch. However, for me everything creative or dangerous we did went through Harry which is why he edged it.

Entirely unrelated probably but Harry’s performances seem to have improved since Nuno was appointed!

Was wonderful last night. As I said earlier in the thread, oh he keeps doing well for England, it’s only better for us as Levy will be pushing his price up and out of reach.

The Final: The Italians didn’t know how to deal with Morata dropping off the two CB’s and turning at them, what the actual fuck are they gonna think when Kane does it!!??

Good performance from Kane- amazing composure throughout.

However, I'm making this post to say that Sterling was England's best player tonight imo (despite doing some annoying shit at times, especially in the first half).
It's funny because I didn't think Sterling was as good as people make him out. He had flashes for sure but often over run the ball. I think he's a player that because of his quickness he appears to catch the eye more. He's actually very similar to Moura, very sharp to the ball and takes people on but lacks end product. He had a good game but Kane was our best player throughout.

Kane: "I want to finish as the top scorer"
Southgate: "If you score any penalties though, they'll use that to discredit it like last time"
Kane: "Don't worry - I've got an idea"

He has the same combined goals and assists as Kane this tournament (excluding the assist he would have had if Kane had scored the pen).

I think we're too easily biased by Kane being our player imo. Thought he was good, Sterling more dangerous.

Definitely. It's the weakest part of his game. But, by the same token, Harry took a terrible penalty and was very fortunate that the save rebounded straight to him. So I still make Sterling motm.

Long (and I do mean looooong) time lurker here. Not sure if it has been mentioned before in here, but something just dawned on me that compelled me to add to my magnificent post count of 3!

If Kane scores on Sunday (or ideally 2 to take him clear), then it would make him simultaneously:

1) The reigning Premier League Golden Boot winner
2) The reigning Premier League assists winner
3) The reigning World Cup Golden Boot winner
4) The reigning Euros Golden Boot winner

That would be a truly extraordinary personal achievement, and it would not surprise me if it turned out to be unique in the history of football.

100M? Good luck negotiating that with Levy!

It's been a genuine privilege to be able to watch him play for Spurs over the years and I very much hope to be watching him play for Spurs again next season!

Can't agree that Sterling and Moura lack end product. Sterling is regularly among the top scorers in the league.

I would be interested to see if winning the Euros affects Harry’s apparent desire to leave.

Can fully understand him wanting to “win things” but in reality, he can’t win anything bigger than Euro2020 with Manchester City…
If we win the Euros it isn't going to make Kane less hungry for more trophies, it will only add to it. However the fact that its been 55 years for England to get to this point has a similar feel to Spurs search for a League title. It may just keep him here a bit longer knowing how special it is to win something big for Spurs. Winning things with City is like winning things for the likes of Spain or France. Its pretty common for those teams and not nearly as special. I still feel he can leave at a similar age to Sheringham and clean up trophies for a few years if he fails to win things with us.

My guess is the only thing that results in Kane moving this summer is an elite club going all out for them ready to put up world record fee money and put their all into him, much like Real Madrid did with Ronaldo and Bale.

I don't see it happening.

It’s truly remarkable.

Note that if Kane scores one goal on Sunday he wont win the golden boot, unless he also gets two assists. Stupid Euros rules.

And the all time England top scorer in tournament football. The guy is a legend and gets nowhere near the credit he deserves.

Well maybe more comparable in stats to Son. He just reminds me of Moura in how quick he is to pounce on balls and just beat players to the ball to win a foul. Moura tends to drop back further and not get as many chances on goal though. I still get frustrated by Sterling carrying the ball too long. What he does though is keep going and that creates plenty of opportunities for him. He has enough chances to make a high assist and goal count.

What stood out for me was that when the game was frantic Kane was the most composed one.

Kane will need 2 goals on Sunday to get the golden boot. Unfortunately Ronaldo has 5 goals and 1 assist which will keep him ahead of Kane even if he scores another. If Kane scores 1 and assists 1, Ronaldo will still get it on fewer minutes played.
