Well maybe more comparable in stats to Son. He just reminds me of Moura in how quick he is to pounce on balls and just beat players to the ball to win a foul. Moura tends to drop back further and not get as many chances on goal though. I still get frustrated by Sterling carrying the ball too long. What he does though is keep going and that creates plenty of opportunities for him. He has enough chances to make a high assist and goal count.

What stood out for me was that when the game was frantic Kane was the most composed one.
In many ways I compare Sterling to Alli. Very good at timing and making runs into the box. Getting lots of goals, many tap in, Sterling more tap in than Alli though. Both work hard off the ball.

But where they frustrate is in the build-up play from deeper or out wide.

When struggling a bit more, it is Kane the team will look to to make things happen. But it might be Sterling or Alli that gets the tap in or assist.

It’s truly remarkable.

Note that if Kane scores one goal on Sunday he wont win the golden boot, unless he also gets two assists. Stupid Euros rules.

Kane will need 2 goals on Sunday to get the golden boot. Unfortunately Ronaldo has 5 goals and 1 assist which will keep him ahead of Kane even if he scores another. If Kane scores 1 and assists 1, Ronaldo will still get it on fewer minutes played.

Ah thanks, I did not realize that. Then 2 goals on Sunday it is :)

It’s a stupid rule. They should deduct penalty goals to start with.

Yeah I can see some similarities. I think they're players who are best in reactive situations. When they play on instincts alone they are at their best. When it slows down and they have to think more what to do then they struggle. That's where you need a Kane or a Grealish to show their composure.

Just can’t agree. Until England were winning Sterling was good, but all heads down and no product, while everything good England did went through Harry. No Harry on the pitch and I don’t think England, for all the control they had, gets behind the Danish defence.

Once we were ahead and there was space, Sterling was brilliant. Before that he was very good until but not including he got into a dangerous area in my opinion.

That said, with Phillips and Rice seemingly refusing to inject any pace or progression into our play when they had the ball, Sterling’s job was made much harder.
I thought we played our best football in the first half of extra time and that the team, at that point of the game, looked like it was our strongest team. We need Henderson, Foen and Grealish in the starting line up.

100m offer is actually offensive when you are honest about his true ability and value to us.

His commercial value to the club alone for the next three years, is probably above 100m on it's own.

I would be interested to see if winning the Euros affects Harry’s apparent desire to leave.

Can fully understand him wanting to “win things” but in reality, he can’t win anything bigger than Euro2020 with Manchester City…
He can win the Balon d'Or

The Final: The Italians didn’t know how to deal with Morata dropping off the two CB’s and turning at them, what the actual fuck are they gonna think when Kane does it!!??

Off topic, I know, but Spain was an especially difficult opponent for Italy. Mancini's team is all about a very aggressive high press. They execute it very well. But Spain is the most press resistant team in Europe, if not the world. So they were able to dominate possession and create numerous openings - only failing to win because they have mediocre forwards.

England won't be able to resist Italy's press to anything like the same degree. So Harry might be starved of good possession, support and team mates running beyond him, even if he does drop deep. England won't be able to get the ball to him in space anything like as effectively as Spain were able to get the ball to Morata and their other forwards. Our hopes might rely more on sporadic counter attacks and individual brilliance from one or two players.

With his performances at the Euros and leading us to the first tournament final since ‘66 I can see Levy using our COVID loss number of £200m as a starting point for any negotiations. City have the money but they’ve never spent mega money on a player so seems unlikely that Kane will be going anywhere this summer.

If Man City only want to offer £100m then they obviously don’t want him enough.

So they can say that they've tried and that he was too expensive. Nobody at City is foolish enough to think that Kane will leave for less than (at the very least) £150m this summer.

1 goal would be lovely, 2 the icing on the cake!

It's funny because I didn't think Sterling was as good as people make him out. He had flashes for sure but often over run the ball. I think he's a player that because of his quickness he appears to catch the eye more. He's actually very similar to Moura, very sharp to the ball and takes people on but lacks end product. He had a good game but Kane was our best player throughout.
I thought Kane was excellent, but Walker was immense. Has been all tournament.

So basically an international version of Spurs 20/21

I think Kane needs this win.
How many finals has he been in now and not gotten it over the line? He’s been injured going into two of them.

Would be a monkey off his back and I obviously hope it helps him wanting to stay at Spurs, though that’s probably wishful thinking on my part.

The italians wont mess about. They'll kick him early and kick him hard on the ankles.
They know how to win and the ends justify the means when it comes to finals.

He’s going to need a good few weeks off after this Euros end or else he will be shattered second half of the season. He obviously plays every minute. Tough on the legs.

Long (and I do mean looooong) time lurker here. Not sure if it has been mentioned before in here, but something just dawned on me that compelled me to add to my magnificent post count of 3!

If Kane scores on Sunday (or ideally 2 to take him clear), then it would make him simultaneously:

1) The reigning Premier League Golden Boot winner
2) The reigning Premier League assists winner
3) The reigning World Cup Golden Boot winner
4) The reigning Euros Golden Boot winner

That would be a truly extraordinary personal achievement, and it would not surprise me if it turned out to be unique in the history of football.

100M? Good luck negotiating that with Levy!

It's been a genuine privilege to be able to watch him play for Spurs over the years and I very much hope to be watching him play for Spurs again next season!

Anything less than 250M is a bargain...
