From The Athletic’s United reporter today. I wouldn’t take him for free never mind £40m and those huge wages.

Harry Maguire is a good defender I'm not sure he's got a range of abilities but he's a solid defender.
I don't know anything about what Postecoglu wants from his central defenders but if he wants that then Harry Maguire is a good option.
My 8 year old grandson keeps leaving little notes saying Harry Maguire is the goat, has done for months, I thought it was a joke but maybe he knows something we don't. 😎

If Postecoglou wants us pressing high up the pitch with a back 4, Harry Maguire isn't anything like what we need.

Fucking lol. I know it’s the done thing to bitch out Levy for anything and everything on here, but this is legitimately hilarious.

Get real.
Our fan base would increase and merch sales would go through the roof with the signing of Harry Maguire.

Got to love SC.

If we signed him, the defending isn't the worst thing that comes with him.

It would be that harry Maguire massive head song that would be sung constantly.

I hate seeing this thread bumped, it gives me nightmares.
(I'm aware I'm contributing to this madness)

£190,000! 😂 he’s not getting that anywhere else, no wonder he wants to stay and I don’t blame him. Conversely, no wonder they are desperate to get rid of him. A loan for a season has to be the best from his perspective but he’s within his rights to sit put.

I believe free transfers, particularly among bigger clubs, will become more normal in the near future.

£10m a year for a 30 year old defender is a lot of money but justified if there's no transfer fee and he's good enough.

The length of the contract will also be key, as the last thing teams wants is a full squad with ageing players on the decline.

If we have a plan for him, I'd hope it'd be on a free transfer and 2 year contract.

Matt Law says there is “interest” but that’s all. He was on LWOS and said about the Harrys being tight together. Doesn’t sound like he is under serious consideration though.

I listened to it and it just came across as someone who was guessing. He was making claims about who Ange wanted and stating things almost as fact. I just don’t see this one at all.

Yeah that's what I was trying to get across. Quite ironic they then all followed it up with that it is going to be a summer to stay clear of nonsense peddled on social media about transfers, as it will be rife the whole window. :ROFLMAO:

Please go no absolutely awful defender and would be so bad in Ange all high line, he is very good on the ball though but his lack of pace and general defending is a big problem.

100%. I’ll admit when we were linked with him in January I wouldn’t have been against it as I think he would have done ok in Conte’s back 3 and a loan could have been a decent deal. However now, not a chance
