If Winks is being sold to Everton then this points to Richarlison being our forward signing IMO.

No way Everton are spending £20m on him without a significant sale.

So over £40m for Winks and Bergwijn. We can definitely afford Raphinha and still have plenty for Paratici to play with...

Winks +£5-10m for Bissouma is a crazy bit of business.

i said it in this thread before - he is by far and away the most modern everton transfer everton could ever make.

unfortunately for any everton fans reading this, that’s not a good thing. i can guarantee he’ll be in the championship in 3 years.
Ironically, most likely with Everton

You reckon this could be Everton asking Spurs to alow them to declare a higher transfer fee for Richarlison if we sign him?

So Winks could be part of talks but less slander for £20m from fans if lets say they declare we paid £50/60m for Richarlison.

Or am i talking absolute nonsense

They'll get a buyer for either him or DCL. I'm sure of that. I wouldn't say it would be a gamble.

I have no idea how FFP works and I think the people who are in charge of enforcing FFP don't either, so yeah sure, maybe.

If they take Winks for that its only fair we pay their rate for Richarlison if we really want him tbh

Kenwright playing 4D Chess, gathering all of Poch’s old favorites before they sack fat Frank and try to convince him to come!

In all seriousness - I am happy for Spurs, if they pull this off.

I don't hate Winks - but I don't think this is a good move for him. Everton are a poor team, in a bit of disarray. He may see it as more risky - but a move to Spain would have been great for him - I think.

For Everton - this is an odd move, and I don't think it will work out. One thing is almost universally true - under Conte, players get better. He is an excellent coach, in addition to manager, and players generally get better under his guidance. Winks has not gotten better. (Dele did not get better either). That, to me, is a red flag.

On the contrary IMO, this is a very good move for them. If Lampard can get the team going, type of football his team plays would be perfect for Winks. He needs a proper DMF though - if they dont bring in a Hojberg type player to play alongside it wont work well

I dont get all this Winks sarcasm and surprise. He is easily worth 20 mill and will be a solid player for any team outside of Top6. He is just not good enough for Top4 standards.
Don't agree. I think he'll be found out quickly just like Dele that he's not up to the standard even for Everton.

To everyone saying this, I always pose the question of why he hasn't stuck out as being really good in games in the Europa league, conference league, relegation teams, etc?

It didn't work when Winks played with Hojbjerg here?

Winks is a good player. People are gonna hate me for saying it but he’s a better passing range than Skipp, Hojbjerg, Bissouma and Bentancur. None of our other midfielders can play first time passes over the top and clipped passes like Winks. I can think of several examples of such passes in a season where he has rarely played. He’s poor defensively though and struggles physically and athletically. He’d be a nice profile to keep in the squad but he obviously wants football and 20-25m from Everton is a nice deal for us. I hope he smashes it, will always be fond of him.

New Academy built for 45m from 2010/11 CL run....selling yet another academy player for good money. Winks being sold for 20m is great business for the club. 40-45m sale from Stevie & Winks should help us going for that forward player
