£20m at a push is still quite a lot, Kend. It's a third of the original figure. Which although still states we've invested - we've needed it.
The consensus on here was that we overachieved with what we had and now we're adding the flesh to the bones as it were.
And stemark, I don't understand your definition of "waste" - because it's ludicrous. We've invested in our future and our present. Would you rather we didn't spend our money on upcoming talent? Would you rather we didn't send out a message that we're prepared to buy youngsters and play them?
Kaboul and Boateng are ones for the future. Bale's a superstar, technically, and that's why we beat United to sign him. And I bet he's glad he made the move to us, because I don't think he would've got a look-in at OT yet. His exposure to our first team is exactly what he needed. It's not for all youngsters, but he is ready and seems to have his head switched on.
As for Bent, how you can pass judgment already (even though he's scored some important goals) is beyond me, and quite frankly typical of how a lot of Spurs fans come around to an opinion based on the short term, without the ability to see beyond the next fixture nor the last.
Yep quite right - we've added huge value to the balance sheet from our aquisitions. Kabul and Boateng may not quite have lived up their price tags but I think there's a lot more to come from them
