How would you fill the Harry Kane shaped hole?

What qualities do people think Alli will bring as a no9? I just don't see it
The same qualities as Firmino, according to the person who suggested it. :ROFLMAO:

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to try, given no option is ideal, but he'd be far more effective as a no.10 than a false 9.

I have a question regarding Troy and the youngsters. When a PL club can have a squad of maximum 25 players, is that included the under-23 and under-18 players we would like to use in PL, or are we free to use them as we'd like from game to game excluded from this 25 players squad?

How would I fill a Harry Kane-shaped hole?

I watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind the other day, so I'm gonna go with mashed potato, Bob.

In all seriousness, though - I wouldn't be able to tell you: I'll leave it to Jose to decide.

Just use the rest of the season/however long Kane is out as a free hit, rotate through the options and see what combination(s) work. Try the quicker players through the centre with others feeding them, try Alli as the 9. Try Lamela there dropping off the front with runners going beyond him, etc. See what clicks.

Same applies at the back in my opinion. Toby and Jan are not the future, they're barely the present. I'd bin them now and audition the rest to see if any of them strike up a partnership. They might not, if so you then know we need to be in the market in the summer, but maybe they just might......

Didn't Spain or Barca play Fabregas as a 'False 9' a few years back, to good effect? Could try Alli there and see how it goes?

That said it would be crazy not to give Troy minutes. If nothing else, he'd be champing at the bit to impress.

Just don't rush Kane back no matter what kind of results and performances we throw at his absence. Costant rushing back due lack of options has hardly done him good.

I would be curious to see what Lamela could do with 30 minutes in a false 9 role. He is not afraid to throw his body around, can control and retain the ball under pressure and isn't afraid to commit a foul or two in the opponents half (a must for a Mourinho striker).

Think he will go with Son up top for the time being.

I love Lamela but for some reason his body shape and balance is terrible when hitting snap shots or shifting and shooting! If you watch carefully you can see he falls over often after a shot.

Anyone who was 21 and under on a set date do not require being in the 25man squad.

Foyth, Sessegnon, Skipp and Parrott are all not in the 25 man squad.
