I maintain we are 6th in spite of Poch, not because of him

Kane might have a crap season next year, he might do his cruciate in the first game and miss the season, without him we would be fucked this year
You could be right, but I doubt it. I want to see Poch have another season, ideally without Europa games and travelling, so he has time to drill and drill the team into shape, coaching-wise.

Just don't see it tbh, he seems to be nothing more than the Argentine answer to AVB

AVB had Bale to carry him and paper over the cracks, Poch has Kane

Points are not the be all and end all. 6th 7th 8th would be fine IF there were signs of his style of play. That the players were putting into practice what there were being coached to. We don't get pumped by shit teams like Stoke. Remember we have been fucking lucky this year to be where we are. Numerous last minute wins of games we didn't deserve to and the emergence of Kane. Anyway it would depend I guess on style, clear signs of promise and position.

Beaten 3-0 by Stoke, a bunch of cloggers and thugs, yet Poch is the right man to take us to the next level? ok

Reality is Kane, and also Eriksen's late goals, have carried us this season, but for them we would be where Newcastle and Villa are
Despite playing poorly ourselves, you're completely underestimating and dismissing a capable Stoke side as if they are just a League 2 side or something and that completely devalues your opinion in my eyes. We have no divine right to win every game and it's that kind of attitude that sickens me about a huge number of Tottenham fans.

To all: the poll question is clear.

Assume no major squad overhaul and we end up same points next year and same league position: do you still want poch.

The purpose of posing the poll is to limit the number of variables, all the ifs and buts that are up for debate.
E.g I appreciate how the team plays will and should influence your choice, but I want this element eliminated. for me personally I see this as being part of doing better the coming year but if you disagree vote accordingly.

I also post this poll now so that the goal posts won't shift when we revisit this topic further down the line.

I think he is different he try's to play the ball forward quicker, avb was very defensive, he tried to bore the other team to death with side ways passing, we just need to stick with a manager and build a squad and team. All this chopping and changing does not help.

Players come and go, tactics change, performance vary.
Every team has their problems to solve.
League table/points don't lie and is the only objective measurable benchmark for relative performance.
Assume no major squad overhaul.

Keep your reasons brief (2 sentences max) if you want to provide one. Lets just tease out the essentials.

I'll believe this when i see it.

I think you can say the same under avb and Sherwood though.

He should be sacked now

The guy can't motivate a squad, has no plan b, tactically clueless, cant get players to play to his system

Yet his replacement. despite having squad pillaged might be ahead of us

Fuck Poch, we are only a Kane serious injury away from relegation battle next year, not the guy to take us forward

Maybe then poch is not the problem, seeing as he was stuck ade, capoe, RS, Kabul, Paulinho, vlad, and the stars of our team I know some of them are not playing well now but mason, Kane, Bentalab, rose, Dier eriksen, and of course verts and loris tell its own story.

If next year we have a clear out of the crap get a good center back, midfielder, and striker and a winger then use the spare squad places to bring though, josh Onomah, Pritchard, winks, oduwa and actually start building for the future so then stage two bring though Harrison, KWP, CCV, miller ect bring though our young players and buying good young players and a couple of exp old heads with a long term plan is the only way we will get a chance of making spurs great. I hope poch is the man fir this, I know a few people who talk to brad Friedal and all have said he thinks poch is a great manager and just needs time.

If we do not win the league next year, it can only be down to the manager. Never mind that revenues are 6th, or that net transfer spend is about 20th, or that we have enough deadwood on the team to keep a bonfire lit for an entire season. Nope, the only thing that keeps us from winning the league is not have the right manager.

We need to keep plowing through manager until we find that single manager who can turn our squad into champions. Nothing less is acceptable.

Why don't we just let poch get the type of players in that he wants; get rid of the type he doesn't and then take it from there.

Kinell folks.
Don't you think that the problem is more than players that he allegedly wants? As I said before if there was some semblance of proper man and squad management, tactical know how eg effective formations and substitutions etc, then I would agree but so far these have been disappointingly lacking. I honestly believe that a more adept manager would have gotten much more out of our squad and that includes youth players. Getting players that he allegedly wants will just see a repeat of the same, what then?

No one I see other than you now mentioning it is putting down Stoke. The problem is that you can lose to any team but its how you lose that is the issue most of us have. But yes we should be beating Stoke just as how we should have beaten Manu a few weeks ago when they were so off form.

It's not entirely out of the question that Poch may have been sacked or quit before the end of next season.

Let's say if someone in Spain or Italy came in for him over the summer, would he go or would he stay? If we have a bad start and he's under pressure, would he quit or get sacked? If we have a great start and are doing well by Christmas, would someone bigger come calling?

I thought when we were linked with him last season that he might only be here for one season. I brushed that away during the season, but it's come back again recently. We know that Levy wants to build going forward, but we do know how ruthless he is when it comes to managers.
