West Ham linked with 2 centre backs today. Tarkowski and Rodon from Swansea. @agrdavidsfan Im sure I’ve seen you mention Rodon before but I can’t remember if it was in a positive or negative way!

The Tarkowski non-signing has been going on a while, it's what Sullivan is being called out on saying they can't afford him. Let alone the implication that Tarkowski doesn't want to leave, if so why are they bidding?

This implies that Moyes wants to improve their defence, perhaps he doesn't rate Diop and therefore a deal is possible. I've not seen enough of him to know if he could be better in a different team.

It was positive on Rodon as I recall.

Still surprised we aren’t going for Ben white at Brighton.

appreciate he signed a new deal but he’s a real talent.

worked his way through the leagues and impressed vs us playing for Newport in the cup.

Brighton can’t turn down big money and I’m sure we could offload ccv or foyth as part if the deal.

far better than diop.

it'll take big money to get Ben White min 50 his stocks very high at the moment plus signed a new deal. Dias Benfica De Ligt Juventus Milan defenders and other under radar top quality LCB , we definitely need to address our defence and striker

Diop has had 2 seasons in PL. First season clearly showed his talent. Second season awful...Coincidentally, 2018/19 they had a stable team, manager was doing reasonably well and they finished 10th. 19/20 - Managerial sacking doesn't help him and players around him also quite bad

I am not batting for him - he would be my last choice but then a 22 yr old can have a single off season occasionally.

This is quite an interesting read.

States that his first season was very impressive and he was putting in solid numbers which matched his Toulouse numbers, just ti show he wasn't having an abnormal season.

However last season his numbers were down compared to previous. They believe this is because the defence and team were not as stabled/settled.

He's only 23 so could certainly improve with better coaching as he does have raw ingredients. He's quick to get out to intercept and tackle however it's clear he has concentration/positioning problems but that could because he isn't used to being in a 3 CB defence.

Still, Skriniar would be the better call as he's more experienced and better and that's what we need right now. Not potential

I think Diop as a 4th choice CB squad player would be absoloutely fine, he's 6ft 4ins so would dominate in the air when needed, he has good pace and Jose can coach his positioning to improve, I think he's fairly young as well.

Obviously would prefer Skrinjar to come in as he would become our 1st choice CB but if its a choice between Diop or Kim Min Jae or nothing I'd go Diop everytime.

West Ham's defence has been poor for a while but aside from Diop and Fabianski the other defenders are utter trash and they have zero protection, solid Prem players with natrual attributes can improve playing with better players and coaching.

Don't think for one minute they'd sell to us but honestly wouldn't be hugely against this, he'd be very handy in certain games, but again would rather Skrinjar or Dias to come in and transform our defence if poss.

Yes, agree.
Diop if he comes in is a squad defender and would have to do a lot to get to first XI
Skriniar if he comes in, goes into starting XI

I don't see it happening after listening to Sullivan's interview on TS, basically saying how difficult it is for them to sign players, the fans moaning etc and also perhaps key is that he says they're short of defenders. So surely the last thing they'd do is sell a starting eleven defender to a team their fans hate.
