Agreed with that, remember that interview with Jol with a Dutch magazine, he said he had the choice of Berbatov and Torres and went for Berbatov hands down. Berbatov's agent has also said Jol was a big factor in the player coming to Tottenham. Makes the recent Sun story re Jol wanting to sell Berba and the various ITKs saying Jol wanted to swap Berba for Crouch in the summer even more ridiculous.

Berbatov, Blale and KPB all jol signings... if true then its some good shouts

What that actually sounds like is a bunch of made-up garbage. Somebody who likes Jol suggests that he was the driving force behind buying the players that everyone likes and expects big things from, and Commoli's to blame for buying a player that a lot of supporters don't like. I bet if Jol/Commoli had been in charge when Jenas was bought, that would have been Commoli's fault too, right?

Joey, that stuff you just posted. Seems to be almost the exact opposite of what Dragon said before. Would you guess someone is anti Jol and someone is Pro Jol?

Spot on.

earlier in the summer we had some bloke claiming to bump into comoli at an airport and comoli saying "I don't know anything about Bent deal it's nothing to do with me".

The pro Jol mob have him making all the good signings and the anti Jol mob have him trying to sell Berbatove etc.

As if anyone would scout Berbatov and say: Nah 10mil, overpriced. think we'll leave it. And like Jol actually had a choice of Berbatov and Torres.

And I'd love Joe Cole, but it aint gonna happen.

Stoof - not sure what you mean.

If the hierachy of our club is in turmoil since the media revelations of the last fortnight, why wd we spend a lot of money on cole or quaresma? If we are going to spend 10m+ today, then I presume that is going to be on a player everyone agrees on. In my opinion, the chances of that are next to nil, given the current political situation at the club.

I hope I'm wrong, cos I agree with others on this thread that we need strengthening in the middle and the left of midfield, but I think that is the political situation.

I'm interested in your views, as I say, hope I'm wrong..!

What I'm saying is that the premise that the political situation is only in it's second week of infancy is flawed.

With the pretentiousness removed from the above sentence, I just don't think that if there is a political situation between Jol and Comolli that it's just come about recently. It would have been from very early on in DC's Spurs career.

Like I said - we were closed for incomings ever since the KPB signing. That was my view then, and this is it now.

Political situation or no political situation, we're done for ins. Not saying that we should be, more that we are.

I agree with your "why would they invest if they are unsure" line - but ask yourself if you truly think that if there is a problem, that it is a new and recent development. Because, personally, if there is a problem between Jol and DC, Jol and DL or Jol and whoever, then we wouldn't have invested how we did.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that every single player we've signed under these three - that's Jol, DC and DL - has been universally accepted, and that they are all happy with all of the players at the time of signing. (Hence now Zokora doesn't get a game).

I don't buy into this "Jol" player and "Comolli" player stuff. They're Spurs players - selected by Comolli, agreed by Jol and bought by Levy.

That part does have some truth. He actually said on the radio during the WC, that they had a choice between Torres at £20 million or Berbs at £10 million. I think the Dutch magazine is probably quoting him from that radio show. The thing is I don't think Jol litterally meant that he simply had a choice. I think he meant the club targeted the two players, but decided to really pursue Berbatov. Jol's English is far from perfect and often what he says in interviews is exactly what he means.
