I hope its rectangular, close to the pitch, and steep.

my thoughts exactly!! let's not make another toilet bowel style ground like the scum have, where you can't hear the fans sitting 200 yards away!! We need an amphitheater type of stadium, where the fans are literally on top of the pitch making it uncomfortable for the away side, a steeper seating plan giving better views and all the while promoting an atmosphere of biblical proportions!!!!!

Great news. I cannot wait to say goodbye to the poles which support the East Stand roof. Just hope its true.

If they increase the capacity too far beyond demand , people like me will not renew their season ticket and will take a chance that we can get tickets to the matches we really want to see .

That will result in lower revenue for the club .

Well I'll happily swap my membership, with which I have always been able to get a ticket to whichever game I want to see (goons, Manure, Chavski etc etc), for your season ticket for next season. Then you won't have to wait for the new stadium to be built.

This is going to sound dumb because I don't actually know the theory, but...

There's a theory to building stadia. I'm sure it's all worked out mathematically. So we can all have an opinion but in the end they'll have been through it all a hundred times and made the best decision they can. If that's 60,000 fine, but if it's 50,000 with the potential to rise to 60,000 then that's fine too.

The underlying conundrum is how to logistically import and export a potential further 24000 / 34000 in and then out of the High Street and surrounding area.

Whats the waiting list for season tickets these days??

I believe that we will be able to fill the stadium, I know I only get to the North West/East games.....due to location but well I still think that we can fill at least 50,000 it will suit me fine!!

well because we couldnt sell 60k out

Give the seats to kids, kids st for 50-100 pounds when bought with an adult.Capture a new generation of fans
Also give the tickets to the schools that what we use to do in 80s for the shit games all you could hear was a low pitch Tottenham from the park lane.

Agree.

The club has an obligation to the youth in and around the Borough. Hopefully when building the Stadium they make provisions and most certainly bring back the days of Junior spurs prices for kids.

but we all know whats going to happen.

They'll probably build a bigger stadium with more facilities more capacity and yes higher pricing to pay it all back.

Example: Wembley

A while back BOF posted a report on a THST meeting at which a club representative was asked about the stadium. As I recall, he was pretty non-committal—unsurprisingly—but on the capacity issue there definitely was a concern that season ticket sales might suffer if punters realised they could turn up on the day and get a seat.

People will say, 'Ah, but times have changed', but it's a fact that in the 50s and 60s, with a 65,000 capacity and tickets costing about 3/- (15p, for the kiddies ) we only occasionally got over 60,000 in, even in Double Year. But as you say, Sloth, the club will have gone over this minutely.

As for the tube extension, I'll be astounded if it happens. Extending the Victoria Line to Northumberland Park is by no means as straightforward as many appear to think, and wouldn't be cost-effective—if it's only going to be used to capacity on at most about 30 afternoons/evenings a year, it's a non-starter as far as TFL are concerned.

On this point..What do people think "the getting to and from the new ground" method is likely to be? what about parking? Accesability? things like that....anyone?

Lets all write letters of congratulations to Boris Johnson the new mayor of London, He may be a prick but lets try and get him on our side from the start.
