Yes but then he went back to Utd and did bugger all again.
To be fair they fell out because iirc he wanted to move permanently to West Ham but was denied.

Also reaffirms my belief that if you put the right environment around players they will perform well.

I think he suffered at United because he was home grown.

Hopefully we're monitoring the situation in such a way that we can stay as far away from signing him as possible.

Funny because in January I would probably have been more for it then against it.

6 months later and what a come down that would be from hoping we go all out for Maddison

He might be asking for that but if nobody is offering him close to that then he’ll take the best offer on the table, which I’d imagine is West Ham given their strong desire to sign him.

Maybe Newcastle could gazump West Ham but not sure if they ever followed up their apparent interest.
