Yeah quite possibly, but now with this deal in doubt it seems we’re looking at other championship defenders.

We were planning on going for Kim Min Jae primarily by all accounts.

Skriniar seemed to come about due to Inter being more open to him leaving for funds otherwise we wouldn't have even been in within shot I'd imagine - Inter wouldn't have been selling an important first teamed for less than 60m much more than they seemed to be open to this window.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rodon was high on the list but the club were concerned about his injuries so put it on the back burner.

We've always been on the look out for deals like this.

Opportunistic deals like Skriniar
or young potential like Rodon.

Maybe this is what we'd planned all along. , knowing that this little bonus window was available.
It could be that a couple of players down there have caught our eye but we wanted to try for Skriniar first.
Who knows, maybe we'd have even been trying to do this had we been successful with Skriniar?

We probably have dozens of players "on the radar" that have been well scouted, maybe hundreds. I doubt they're just looking at these alternatives now for the first time.

I was going to write something along these lines.

There could be a whole host of things, and a perceived choice of clubs, not fancying Tottenham/London, injury, partners choice, family reasons, plus many more could all be possible.

No we really didn't. There may have been others looked at just in case, but CV was the main target from the start.
