Recent reports that Mourinho is looking at this season rather dissapointed and «depressed» because he haven’t signed a striker, is for me a bit worried. Endure when you don’t have what it takes rather than play yourself down before it has even started. Is this the season where everything goes to shit and Mourinho blames everything on why we didn’t sign a striker? Fucking hell....

if there is one thing i have learnt from the amazon video, is there's a huge difference between the Jose in press conferences and the one behind the scenes. in the press conferences he may bitch and moan. but it's clear when the rubber hits the road, he tries his best to get the boys focused and energized. it seems pretty clear to me that he doesn't spend his timing moping around and being a debbie downer.

can't really imagine him gathering the squad in the video room and saying: 'Well boys, we are fucked. Completely fucked. ****s, ****s, ****s, we are fucked. No striker. Eighty thousand games in four days. We will be dead. Fucking dead. Write your wills, says your goodbyes. Because in football, like life, you get kicked in the balls and you cry like a baby and shit your diaper. There is no hope. We are fucked. Okay? Fucked. Now, go out there, and play with confidence. I'm going to go home and kill myself. Fucking hell."

You're mixing up his comments about the fixture congestion to start the season.

I've said for ages people see what they want to see when it comes to Spurs. In this case though it must be LSD.

If Mourinho is still Mourinho I really think we should finish top 4 this season.

We still need 2 more signings, but pound for pound I think our squad is as good or better than Chelsea, Arsenal, or United. And they are managed by Lampard, OGS, and Arteta. Mourinho has many orders of magnitude more managerial experience than those three. And while each of them have had good bits of form, none of them have convinced for a whole season.

We just have to stay healthy.

My point is for everyone giving the ‘do’h’ and ‘wtf’ emoji; we’ve been through the same thing with Poch. He wanted another striker to compete with Kane but ended up with up a 34 yrs old backup. People complain about Hart. Jeeeeez I ain’t gonna happen

Your assumptions are so amazingly premature, hence the reactions!

And you even bother to revenge neg on other posts on other threads - just confirmed those emojis you received are justified. Hahaha.

Chill man. You wanna be controversial, then you gotta take the bullets.

Little worried i beleive todays striker comments are more telling Levy publicly u need to get your finger out. I just cant understand how a club like spurs who have been needing a striker for the past 3 years, jose made in public in Jan we nedded one however we seem to be no closer to signing one. Absoultey shamboloc from Levy. Our transfer business is purely opportunistic and whos beem offered on cheap any given window and that worries me greatly.

Agree on Arsenal, but disagree on Chelsea.

Obviously we'll need to see how Chelsea's signings settle in, but they are absolutely stacked everywhere except CB. Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech, Kovacic, Kante, Werner, Abraham, Giroud, Chilwell, Barkley, Mount, Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi is insane.

I think we're on par with United, though their attack is most consistent than ours except Kane.

(Who’s goal off his tricep/hip sent us through against Man City in the CL QFs, who’s introduction in the second half against Ajax was THE absolute reason we scored three goals in the space of 45min and who, despite not being very good as you say played a key role in some of our best moments in a topsy turvy but incredibly memorable season).

What was opportunistic about GLC or Ndombele? Or Bergwijn? Or Doherty or PEH?. Or Sessegnon?

I am very critical of Levy/Poch for not strengthening the squad in recent years properly but last summer we spent a fair amount and Levy seems to be backing Mourinho, who in turn seems to have realistic targets.

Ok well PEH was in his last year of contract would not have bought him otherwise. Doherty was so cheap that it makes u think why wolves let him go for that, i suspect we will see this year. Sessegnon again chased him for 2 years but waited until in last year of his contract, but still dragged to last day of window. GLC got him on a loan deal ffs, again last day of window because he couldnt or wouldnt stump up and buy Bruno Fernandes. Ndombele yea he really looking like great deal. Bergwijn is a bit of exception, however he wasnt the managers pick but i have no doubt if knew the truth PSV needed the money. Funny how we are mostly picking up players in last year of contract. Thats opportunistic and not actually filling the squad whats really needed. Last 10 years in every season have always a couple players short.

If the Germans and Ziyech hit the ground running then I think you’re right. I wouldn’t bet on it though considering the first year signing aspect, amplified by a very weird shortened COVID preseason.

I also just don’t rate Lampard at all. He really didn’t even do that well at Derby and I think he was pretty fortunate last season with our full season collapse and Leicester’s late season meltdown. I think he could definitely get exposed this season. His tactics are borderline Ossie in ‘94 and I don’t think 35 year old Thiago Silva and Chilwell are just going to sort it out. Also, I think some of their British players are kind of overrated. What have Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek, and Abraham really proved. Do they even have 100 PL appearances between them?

I agree that Lampard hasn't proved a lot yet, but I think their young English players are good and have great potential.
