No pattern of play under Jose. He was out coached by Ancelotti.

Why did he take of dele for sissoko. It must have been an injury, it made no sense.

Going to try not to overreact here, but some of Mourinho’s seemingly preferred players are a very concerning.

The emphasis on Ben Davies since literally match one of his tenure has been odd. Davies is a fine player but to have him as your nailed on first choice with two kids behind him seems like playing with fire.

Moura as first choice is going to end in tears. Another hardworking player you love to have around the club for depth but he’s just too limited technically and so streaky. All the histrionics about Pochettino not starting him in the UCL but I think Pochettino had his measure.

We’ll see what happens when we actually have the full group of midfielder fit but if Sissoko and Winks are ever on the field together against a team above a league one level, we’re going to have a tough time winning.

I know Mourinho likes reliable hardworking players, but if he is unwilling to gamble this season with players like Ndombele, Bergwijn, Sanchez, Sessegnon, and Lo Celso we‘re going to struggle.

Love the effort you get from Davies, Winks, Moura, and Sissoko and am very pleased with them as squad players. But they simply are not starting 11 quality for a football team with our ambitions.

Understand and I'm no Mourinho fan, but what worries me is that if he goes, Kane and Sonny won't stick around for another rebuild

Why so afraid of losing them? They are just a few season away from retirement anyway. We're probably looking at selling Son next summer so that we can reinvest.

Things will turn ugly. Can't see him not criticising the team in public with performances like that.

I have defended Mou but after seeing this I want him to go. I expected more. He got a pre season and this is what we get? I cant see us improving and perform better than we did last season. I rather have Scott Parker (no joke) than Mou.

Not enough ****s out there today. Definitely not a single **** in the 2nd half apart from the XI collective ones!

It's very possible Jose is a couple of years into the same twilight Wenger had for his last half decade plus, at the arse.

That was absolutely wretched.

Mourinho could be 3 or 4 games from the sack if we play like that the next fortnight. It's a dangerous precedent, but if I was Levy I would be asking senior players like Kane and Lloris for their views on what is going wrong. For the whole team to be so lethargic in the season opener at home is extremely worrying.

Jose made tactical mistakes today but it wasn’t all his fault.

Winks - missed most of preseason and hadn’t played for several weeks. He’s also not very good

Doherty - no preseason friendlies and was making his debut.

Hojbjerg - making his debut

Kane - no preseason friendlies, just a couple of rubbish outings for England where he looked unfit and out of form

Alli - has looked a shadow of his former self for 2 seasons

Davies - waste of space

Moura - an attacker who spends more time defending

Son - started brightly but was beyond ball greedy and messed up everyone of his attacks due to failing to pass the ball to Kane and co

There was zero urgency from the team in the 2nd half, no one was pressing or tracking back, we couldn’t make more than 3 successful passes and we created Jack shit. The players have a lot to answer for not just today but for all of last season to.

Jose complaining that we didn’t have a proper pre season. Everton started with 3 players in midfield who signed for them last week!

This guy always complains but never changes his shit tactics

Jose has had this squad for a good few months & we appear to be going backwards. None of his signings looked good & he hasn't improved any of the others. It seems to suggest a long hard season & Jose's job is on the line if performances continue like this.

Apart from possibly Phillips I can't imagine many of of our fans would be happy if we signed any players from Leeds? But the difference between us and them is immense. We are falling further and further behind. Arsenal have made some very good signings too.

We carry one too many 'good, honest pro' types and seem to be somewhat blind to the fact they are not up to churning out performances week in week out. Davies, Dier, Sissoko, Winks.....all triers but fact is they just don't possess the quality. Then you have Moura who works hard and can have his moments but he is so far away from being someone you can hang your hat on to produce the goods every week. These are squad players who have become pretty much permanent fixtures in the team and it is harming us.

didn’t wenger play good football, finish top 4 and win some FA cups in his last few seasons? Bar the last one or two.

It's the first game of the season guys. Our first loss in 7 games. Chelsea opened last season with a 4-0 loss. I remember some Arsenal sides opening the season with losses to Villa and West Ham. United lost at home to Palace early on in the season last year.

Teams have lost the opening game and went on to win titles. It's not an ideal way to start the season but fuck me at least give it a month before writing us off for the season. Seriously..

It’s very fucking obviously the manner of the defeat people have a problem with - and the fact it was a stark reminder of how dire we were last year.

If we’re going to be playing very negative football the pressure to win is ramped up even higher. That’s inevitable. If we continue with this style the pressure will be high after every defeat.
