Thanks for posting. That sounds a lot like us. “The goals came from nothing almost”. A lot of our goals are like that because of the quick breaks. We don’t have an ozil though. Makes me wonder if he did really want Bruno fernandes as was mooted when Mourinho joined.

We have Ndombele who is more valuable to this system because he is better defensively, can carry the ball from deep, dribble out of seemingly impossible situations and arguably just as good a playmaker as peek Ozil for Madrid ;)

For those that think Mourinho doesn't know what he's doing. Do 90% of these goals look familiar?

Give Jose a solid foundation defensively and a world class attacking 3 or 4 and this is the result..

All I can see is convex polygon's everywhere!

If we're going to park the bus when we go 1-0 up against anyone it might be advisable to watch the games on Teletext. Really pathetic how much better we were once we'd conceded a very, very predictable equaliser from a set piece.

This one is on Jose. He'll have to own the fact that the 2nd half was abysmal and we let Palace back into the game. Needs to do better.

Such poor management. Not even for the approach or for sitting back but you could see something needed to be changed a long long time before they scored, even just to change something for the sake of changing it. The fact that he made those subs straight after they scored almost annoyed me even more.

Really really frustrating. Seen similar struggles against Burnley, West Brom, Brighton.

I understand if it ain’t broke don’t fix it & fixture congestion but I really think we need to play Lo Celso and Ndombele together against teams in the lower half of the table.

He fucked up with tactics and (no) subs, need second goal before parking the bus completely. All managers make mistakes, good ones adapt and learn from them. We are still doing better than expected in this set of fixtures.

He got it wrong today but he’s been pretty bang on tactics wise the last couple of weeks. I’d say it’ll be the same tactics against that pool

I suggested this a few weeks ago but got laughed at and downvoted in here.

Jose is doing a brilliant job but the way we play against mid-table/bottom sides was always going to come back and bite us sooner or later.

We actually created more than enough to win today - certainly more than we did in any of the 3 games you mention - but created practically nothing the entire time we were ahead, which is concerning.

Not going to get too negative as we've been on a brilliant run, but hopefully this is a wake up call.

Those tactics will be right for Liverpool, and were right for Chelsea away and Man C at home. But not for Crystal Palace, Burnley, West Brom, Brighton etc. We're going to draw a lot of games this season I think.

Oh! Just blame Mourinho for sitting off second half. There is no way I can see him being happy with second half, conceding so much possession, loosing balls in transition. Worst still, giving away so many needless dead ball situations.
