I think that if Roma pay him less than we paid him then we have to make up the difference for the remainder of what was left on his contract with us. Might be wrong but even if true not so much of an expense.
As is common when a manager gets a new club he takes his previous coaching staff with him,if he does better still.

No way thats the case. In theory Roma could pay him £1 per week and let us make up the difference.

it wouldnt surprise me if levy knew roma were interested, so got rid as they wouldnt pay the compo - and now has to pay him less on the basis hes gone stright into another job.

The BSoDL's are already starting to spin their nonsense i see

Not the case at all, otherwise Roma would need to negotiate with us to hire him (see why Adebayor never joined West Ham even after we’d released him on a free).

Roma aren’t getting the Mourinho that Inter got.

12-18 months time all the news reports coming out of Roma will give us all deja vu.

How does this save us money?
in effect he was put on gardening leave. We continue to pay his salary monthly until either a) his contract with us runs out (which was next Summer) or b) he takes up a new job.

that he has taken up a new job, means we save paying him 1 year of his salary, which was widely reported to be £15m a year. So we save this amount.

Very nice.

Probably best league for Jose, although Roma has history of playing very attractive and attacking football. Sadly I don't think he will want any of our players that we don't want to keep.

Poor Roma fans..

Hard to think he'll be succesful there, that team does not have much talent, not much money to spend on transfers and they seem pretty clearly the 7th best team in the country.
