This is one of those players where you wish player swaps were more common and easier to complete.

£30m and at least 1 of our surplus players kills 2 birds.
Or just give them the dream midfield pairing Winks & Sissoko in a 2 for 1 deal.

Weird comparison, but his dribbling style reminds me a bit of dembele.

One of paratici’s apparent strengths that was mentioned a few times by Gold et al was his ability to sell a club’s project and vision to prospective signings, getting kounde in would raise his stock significantly amongst fans in his first window, but given the alternative destinations kounde could possibly have I can’t see it personally, would be delighted to be wrong however

I think it's really notable, having been linked with such a good player, the total lack of belief in us being able to get this done means there's little to no noise on the site about it.

Telling as to where we think we'll be fishing...or not, as the case may be

I hope we don’t chase this all summer when clearly it’s unrealistic signing due to cost and that he will probably want to join a team in champions league. Milenkovic and Andersen are both more realistic and we could sign both early on in pre season and for a combined price less that kounde would cost

This one's just not gonna happen. Sevilla will drive a hard bargain and we clearly aren't going to get anywhere near their valuation.

Totally predictable but at least we are aware early in the process and can move on to our next target.

Like walking in to a Porsche showroom with the budget for a fiat panda. We do this all the time, every single transfer window.

He’s a top player who will interest top clubs, and therefore will cost a lot of money.

Levy (if he is genuinely making enquiries) needs to either cough up, or else stop wasting everyone’s f*****g time, like we did last year with Skrinniar. Inter told us, he costs this much - pay it or F OFF!! Alternatively, just go ahead and buy Rodon from the start, and save the cost of Steve Hitchen’s flight to Milan.

Is this the club putting stories in the press to give the illusion that we are a big club, with big ambitions, keen to sign big players, or so called journalists making shit up to get clicks? I genuinely don’t know, but suspect a bit of both.

The Tottenham/Levy Transfer Playbook - seen it, completed it, got the T-shirt

More accurate wording and it doesn't sound as bad

Yeah. He's either interested or he isn't. You don't waste time negotiating for a player if he isn't keen. It's a simple yes or no. Of course, he could be leading us on, or waiting for a better club to come in....but yeah it doesn't really make sense that we are talking if he's not interested.

But Levy isn’t the one dealing with transfers, Paratici has been given a budget and will be working with that himself, negotiations, talks the lot. Now what that budget is no one knows, but he will be dealing with everything player transfers wise. This won’t be on DL (please note this is not a defence of Daniel Levy) but we can’t lay blame on him for transfer activity.

A fair take. The new setup needs to be given time to see how it pans out.

I’m personally shocked that one of the most in-demand central defenders in Europe would rather hang around for a nice Porsche or Ferrari than jump into a clown car with one door and 3 wheels.

Shocked.

The clown car probably has lower CO2 emissions and has lower maintenance costs, so choosing the clown car would be seen as doing things the right way by some.
