I'd be happy with Cesar. I know his form has not been great but he was regarded as one of the best keepers in the world not that long ago. Maybe a new environment with a manager that speaks his language will rejuvenate him. 32 is still fairly young for a keeper.

Plus it can't hurt our chances with Lloris. If it's a case of Levy needing them to lower their price or we move for Cesar, I'd say that puts us in a great position.

Don't see why we wouldn't want this to happen...

He would be free. Yes, free. If there's anything Levy loves more than a cut-price deal, it's a no-price deal. Julio Cesar would allow us to upgrade our GK position and also still have enough money to spend on other targets (Leandro?)

Also, the idea that he's regressed and is no longer good is vastly exaggerated. The first half of the season, he was pretty mistake prone. But the second half of the season he was excellent. Ask an Inter fan. They said he was almost back to the CL-season form, and in any case he "was the one player who kept them in many games." Plus he's made for the AVB system as he's quick off of his line.

He's still got years in him. 32 isn't that old for a keeper. We get him for free, he does a job for a couple years. We buy Lloris for 12-15 million, he may give us more years. But guess what? That 12-15 million could go towards buying Leandro Damiao. Adebayor. Moutinho.

Inter are preparing for FFP.

I don't think they'll give him a free transfer though.

Cesar is better than Brad.

His hasn't been in the shape for two seasons and that is poor from the player and the club but do people really think that if we signed him he wouldn't get back into shape?

How do we know that he isn't back in shape already?

If we signed him and got him into shape we'd have the best keeper in the league.

If we can get him for free, but would not like an exchange for GDS. Then we'll have to buy another wide forward.

Have you actually watched him??? I wouldn't think so by this statement. Inter have been poor in defense lately, Cesar has had a couple of blips as a result, still a top keeper and certainly better than Gomes, for many reasons.

Yea no reason for us to pay anything to Inter. If he becomes available on a free, sure we should snap him up, they're the ones about to pay him a good wage to sit the bench.

All players can go through bad stages, he is you g enough for a keeper to get back into form and fitness and be a top keeper again.

I bow to your greater knowledge. :)
Why did Inter drop him?

They haven't yet, they've signed a new keeper who looks like becoming No.1 for them though.

edit: if people (alamo) are going to rate posts with things like 'old' could they at least be bothered enough to post something in return that backs up their point....

Would rather sign Butland.

Oh dear, i think Butland might be a good keeper in the future, but then he might turn into the next Green or Carson or Foster etc...

Cesar has proven that when fit and in shape he is one of the best keepers in the world.

My my some of you are so touchy. Was just a reaction as opposed to a criticism.

If I rated old it was a case of "heard it all before".

Lighten up matey, we are on the same side (y)
