My my some of you are so touchy. Was just a reaction as opposed to a criticism.

If I rated old it was a case of "heard it all before".

Lighten up matey, we are on the same side (y)

I know, anyone would think we're about to start the new season without a new striker signing and with Modric heading out the door..... oh... :(..............;)

Oh dear, i think Butland might be a good keeper in the future, but then he might turn into the next Green or Carson or Foster etc...

Cesar has proven that when fit and in shape he is one of the best keepers in the world.

But for every Green, Foster, Carson there's a Bale, Rooney, Smalling, Jones ... Player's with little to no experience who went to top sides (inc us) for decent to hefty fees.

I take your point re Cesar being proven but you could say the same about Gomes who was rated as one of the best keepers about when we signed him.

I would rather invest in a young talented keeper if we can get him for a reasonable fee :)

I'm talking about keepers, who are very different in the way they develop, there are lots of talented young keepers who wane off and become at best average later in their career.

Not really, i mean Gomes was 5 years younger than Cesar is now when we signed him, he'd only ever played in Brazil and the Dutch leagues and had made only nine international appearances.

Cesar on the other hand has played twice as many games for Inter as Gomes had for PSV, has 64 caps for Brazil, won a CL medal with Inter and was rated Serie A goalkeeper for the year 08/09 and 09/10 seasons and UEFA goalkeeper of the year 90/10.

Cesar is still relatively young, at 32 (well almost 33) he still has a few good seasons left in him IMO and would be a reasonable fee too.

Why are so many of our players (Walker, Naughton, Lennon and now Sandro) being mentioned as makeweights in deals to bring cesar (supposedly available on a free) to WHL?

Can see this happening on the final day of the window. Never really seen that much of him but would guess that he is more used to playing the sweeper role than Brad? Obviously Lloris is the dream but can't see it happening at this stage. Surprised we haven't gone for Vorm

Proper panic stations at QPR, are they trying to buy a completely new squad of players?!
