Quite a stupid statement that, of course we bloody wouldn't.

As for my post on transfers being negative, well you can deny history and the facts all you want. When clubs come calling and the price is right this club has always sold. Fact.

If you don't like to here the truth then don't read this particular post.

Speaking of facts...What about the fact we told Chelsea and Yanited no when they offered more money for Modric and Bale respectively?

The only player I believe we did cash in on in fact(we could and should have kept) was Carrick. Levy really wanted to keep Berbatov aswell despite his antics, but Ramos said he wouldn't play him because of the way he had acted. It's why it went through so late.

Boring. Endless debate mostly about semantics and with the usual suspects trotting out the old party lines.

The facts are these.

We sold Berbatov, Carrick, Modric and Bale all because they wanted to leave.

They all wanted to leave because they felt we weren't in a position to compete at the very top (as was repeatedly proven by our failure to qualify for the CL).

Levy has never sold a player "for the money".

Levy only sold those players because they forced their way out - at which point he tried to get as much money as possible for them.

Kane does not want to leave, and therefore will not be sold. Madrid could offer £100m tomorrow and if Kane said he wanted to stay then Levy would not sell him.

The reason Kane wants to stay is not because he came through the youth system, it's not because he's a Spurs fan, it's not because his mates are here, it's not because we sing that he's one of our own.

He wants to stay because we are second in the PL, with CL football coming next year, because he feels he has a top coach, and because he thinks he can win things with Spurs.

It's the same reason Lloris, Eriksen and all the others currently want to stay.

If next season we end up 6th again, we will probably lose him and some others because they will want to leave, to win things. It is likely that Levy will then try and extract the most money possible if the player can't be convinced to stay.

It's that simple. They'll stay if we look like a top club. They'll leave if we don't. Levy is irrelevant in all this and claims "he'll sell if they money's right" are the same total bullshit they were when they were repeated again and again over the last few years.

I am confused...so if we look at it a different way you are saying I am in denial of the truth and I should humour you? What the fack does that mean? it does not make sense. :D

As always you most certainly are.

I'm finished on this subject.

Whether the players were sold late, early, night or day they were sold. Blaming ex-managers holds no water as the Chairman sold once the price was high enough.

This is not about who sold the players, or to an extent for what price (though Levy always got top dollar) it's about the plethora of ex-managers and Chairman's stating players are not for sale, only for weeks later for them to be sold. That's an undeniable (to the most sane on here).

Will Kane go? well i hope not ever, but you just have to look at our transfer history to tell you that the transfer of our very best has bugger all to do with what statement current managers trot out. It's not what a lot of people on here want to take on board, but until i see a change in our transfer policy on selling players then i expect noting different if a big enough offer comes in for any of our current players.

I think the problem here on this rather pointless thread is that you, @Gaz_Gammon, as the main perpetuator, have not clearly stated and argued your case. Set it down in stone then we'll all know what we're tilting at; otherwise it'll remain pointless.

So, Gaz, what's your point?

To be honest @Bobbins covered this.

In it's entirety.

However, if Kane, goes and bangs in another 20 goals next season he joins Shearer, Henry and Nistlerooy as the only players to have achieved that in the prem.

One season wonder they said ;-)

some people seem to be struggling with the notion that Spurs cant compete with the ambitions of the very best players.

With your theory Kane should 100% be sold this season then.

Any of the Leagues rich clubs would absolutely stump up ridiculous amounts of cash for him. He's a suburb young English striker who has proved he's no one season wonder and can handle the pressure. He's no limited footballer either.

There's no way City, United, Chelsea, etc. Wouldn't stump up a tremendously ridiculous amount of cash for him. More than enough to wet Levy's whistle.

So that's him off then. According to you that is.

There is no foundation, or suggestion in any of my posts that Kane would be sold "this season", the transfer window is closed. Even the most naive football fan knows when the transfer window opens and closes. You apparently do not, and this shows the extent of your football knowledge.

Durr!

Why do you think the likes of for example Carrick, Berbatov, Keane, Bale, Modric, Sheringham were sold? It wasn't because they were run of the mill players now was it?

Levy wouldn't sell to them (and he didn't in the case of Modric and Bale) but non of them would have paid the transfer fee that he received for Bale. Non of them. With Kane likely to be worth more only Madrid, BM or Barcelona would pay the likely transfer fee expected and Barcelona are fixed for the next few years.

So that's him off then. According to you that is.

That's as stupid a statement as it reads, then again you stating that Kane will be "100% sold this season" takes the biscuit.

As I said before, grow up and think before you post such tripe.

I am finished on discussing this subject with you.
