As much as it pains me Yanited are on that list aswell.

Was just about to say that, maybe no recent silverware but you could easily argue they are only second to Madrid in terms of size and following. The amount of cash they generate is huge.

Except the two trophies last season.

Never want to hear any of that 'lessons have been learnt' nonsense again tbh

Agreed, bloody fed up of Spurs never learning, throwing their toys out of the pram each summer and then we do even better in the next season only for another summer of Spurs fans throwing their toys out of the pram.

Skybet are still offering 13/8 on Juve getting him, and 6/4 on us.

BetVictor Evens v 5/4.

Those who are 100% sure he's going to Juve, get the money down.

Me? I've never met a poor bookie so I'm keeping my money in my pocket and my fingers crossed.

Like @Trix says, these things are on and off until they're done. It's Schrodinger's transfer.
So you're telling me we've signed him whilst watching him sign for Juve?

That is basically why a lot of teams below us get their business done so easily

We seem to be in the mid ground, can't afford the extortionate fees for some players and players we could easily sign wouldn't improve us. So finding the right player at the right price takes time and a bit of luck!

That maybe so, my post was relating to our last four transfer windows and this one in particular, it is nothing short of shambolic to not have added at least one player to improve our squad so close to the start of the new season.
Yes I hear you mate most of us are frustrated at the lack of activity so far, but it's best to wait until after the window ends to judge.
If fuck all is done or the signings totally inadequate then yes feel free to vent which would then have some justification, we have around two and half weeks to get some shit done so let the club do or not do it's business first.
Trust me I want to see 3/4 come in but I can't see it personally And I'm normally someone who is quite vocal on here regarding things like this, but on this occasion I'm hoping that our chairman backs the best thing that has happened to him for a long time poch so relax :)

It's a sad state of affairs when the majority of footballers would prefer to join a dead cert championship winning team in a 2nd rate league (albeit Juve are a very good team), instead of joining an up and coming, ambitious, exciting, title challenging team, led by one of the games best head coaches, in an elite league.

93.4 times out of 100 they always opt for for easy street and the extra dollar.

I swear to god if I was a pro footballer at this level, the project, and opportunity to make a name for myself would appeal to me more as opposed to earning 100k instead of 70k, and mindlessly hoovering up trophies in an already trophy winning team.

Maybe he likes Italy?! You can't forget that moving countries involves a lifestyle change. He may be happier not doing such.

Players want medals, money, fame and fanny although this list is not exhaustive and in order, but that sums it up for me.

Born and brought up in Spain, now lives in Rome, offered the opportunity to go play for the biggest club in Italy, one of the biggest in the world, and continue living in a country with far better weather, more history and culture, better food and more attractive women, can't say I don't understand his decision. It's encouraging that this is the level of player we're targetting, and more so that we seemingly had a realistic shot at him, but let's not pretend that we can trump Juventus for any player unless there's a very extreme set of circumstances.

I don't think anyone can be annoyed that he prefers Juve if that's what he wants. The issue is why have we dragged this on into mid August with seemingly little understanding or fallback option. Surprising given people have been saying all summer he's going to Juve.

I hope we do have those fallback options locked in, and that they are of the right quality. It just seems like we don't know what we're doing with much of our transfer dealings. Don't forget we've lost key personnel on this front, presumably for good reason.
