Kenwyne Jones to Stoke (having a medical)

Anyone else think this is a big backward step for Sunderland? They had a really class partnership in Bent/Jones. Good signing for Stoke though, similar player to Beattie but without the tantrum.

Great move for Stoke. Jones could probably have done better in terms of level of club though.

I've always quite liked Kenwyne Jones. He's very good in the air and his strength means he can hold the ball up pretty well. He's also pretty quick when he eventually gets moving.

Before we signed Crouch I wouldn't have been unhappy for us to sign him. Not the striker we need right now but will be a very good signing for Stoke.

Didn't they give him a massive wage rise and contract extension when we were sniffing around him and ever since then he has swanned around like he was David Essex.

Sunderland, like everyone else, have to sell before they buy. They probably have a couple of players lined up and didn't want to leave it till the last minute.
