DeBruyne went and immediately starting smashing it in Germany. If Jose really was infalable when it came to signing players he would have recognised the talent and given him more matches.

The overarching point is no manager is perfect at recruiting talent. Poch is certainly no worse than any other manager.
Not 'perfect' but Jose is not one from the bottle, he is the special one.
Gelson Fernandes was a 'special loan' lol.
Get on board the Josetrainmate ;)

Piatek deal looking shaky now reading around the web. Is Willian Jose still an option? Some talk of two players from Germany, given our hope of a loan, Alcacer could well be one option, but is he what we need stylistically?

Jose does? This is the same guy who let DeBruyne, Salah and Lukaku leave Chelsea when he was in charge lol
Even Ferguson bought duffers like Kleberson & Djemba. The point is, no manager is perfect at identifying the best players for a football club, hence why so many transfer around Europe/the world

If this true I don't blame the club for not pushing to get a permanent deal. He is highly likely to not be good enough for the prem and therefore hard to shift when he flops and is on high wages and we're demanding a high transfer to sell him on.

Willian Jose it is...

Obviously hope we let this happen because we have another target but think we’re dodging a bullet with this. If we desperately wanted him that much it would of been done by now I reckon

Not too fussed with missing out on Piatek specifically, but I'm now in the camp of we're not signing a striker and dear leader Daniel has left us short yet again. Unacceptable.

Sounds like Herth Berlin may have fucked us. We were probably confident of getting him in our terms and now someone else has come along and given Milan what they want.

Time will tell if it's a mistake or not, but it all feels pretty familiar.

Pretty sure we'd have matched Hertha if there weren't other good enough options in the pipeline. I guess we will find out sooner rather than later who the plan B is.

I'd be OK with Jose Willian if it was a loan with option. Paying 30m or whatever for Piatek could bite us in the arse in the long run, so if there's no loan first option I understand our stance. I just hope we don't chase around after Giroud for Chelsea to pull th rug out from under us at the last moment.
