If VAR is too close to call (which that was), the benefit of the doubt should go with the attacker. The whole ball has to be over the line for a goal - the whole body should be in front of the man for offside. Or it should be measured by where the feet are - that is measurable if you draw the lines like they did at some arbitrary bit of the body.

Unbelievable, the only weak mentality around our club is in this thread.

Every time we lose, it's bottle, its mentality and its a thousand other reasons on top, in fact today, according to a bloody lot of you in this thread, VAR cost us and the referee cost us, how strange that after the game finishes it's suddenly not that, its our weak mentality or bottle. What a fucking fairytale.

The majority of those players have shown mentality plenty of times but no, fuck that, we lost so its 'bottle', when we show some nads its not possibly that we actually do have bottle, its written off as 'lucky'

Wanyama should only be on the pitch in an absolute injury crisis. He just can’t move anymore. If Dier can’t do it either, then sell them both, bring in a player who can and move forward with them and Skipp.

We are asking so much of Winks right now, and it’s even more exacerbated when a player like Wanyama is involved.

From a Champions League final to this. A team packed full of players struggling for fitness and form, three senior players set to walk away for nothing, one of the best forwards in world football being starved of the ball and a manager that seems wedded to a fucking diamond that depends entirely on a level of fitness and intensity in midfield that we all know just isn't there. Only Spurs.

Massive over reaction in here... we are still paying for the Newcastle game which no one can excuse the performance that day. But seriously we were not that bad today just didn’t take our chances,

Seen us play a hell of a lot worse in the past six months.

As I said earlier barring the Wanyama substitution I personally haven’t got too many complaints.

There's a bunch that just want poch out the club so I wouldn't waste your time with that.

The performance was good away to a strong side, we looked good, and very comfortable cruising to a victory.
That var decision deflated us and spirited them. Much like arsenal away.
If we had the clinical son today we would've won easily.
Frustrating but not the end of the world as the poch out camp will run with now until the next win .

You can't blame players for wanting to leave. Players want to win trophy's and that's looking unlikely for them at spurs
They have the ability to affect/effect the course of a game which can lead to silverware - some of the ****s who supposedly want out failed to do that and now we have a bunch of players being paid to turn in shit performances - bollocks to that.

We’ve gone back bit by bit for three seasons.

We’re now really not that great. Not saying we can’t get back into some form, but defensively we’re bad, the spine is shaken and we look slow in attack.

I understand the ‘lets Not get carried away’ but this is now nine months of shit.

It’s not knee jerk - we need changes

Agree with red card and penalty. But the goal was rightly ruled offside
It wasn’t rightly ruled offside though.

We are talking about a multi billion pound football league, and they think it’s acceptable to make a decision by plodding some (potentially computer illiterate)referee in front of a television screen and asking him to draw lines on the screen, lines that are thicker than the 1mm discrepancy in the decision.

They’re also working off a still photo that is angled away from the players. This league has so much money and they can’t invest in photo-finish style cameras that are pitch side.

And those things do not even factor in the fact it’s almost impossible to tell when the ball has left the player’s foot when judging when the “offside” player becomes active.

It was the incorrect decision and the system they used to make that decision is not fit for purpose.

On the bright side, we've got 3 of our hardest away games out of the way and by Xmas we will have had tough trips to Liverpool and Utd done too. If we're still in touch of top 4 by 2020 then we should be optimistic

No chance he comes in Jan, I don’t see us getting top four. And I know we usually get good end of the year but this feels different. We look woeful.

Aren’t we normally worse at the end of the year. Normally we look spent having run 5 matches further than everyone else with Poch’s crazy double training.
This year we look spent already so who knows what way that will go.

Agree with us looking poor though. We’re now losing or dropping points for winning positions.

Champions go 1-0 up and everyone knows from then on the result is never in doubt

How many times did SAlex lose having taken the lead with 90s Utd

At 0-2 up that was just about the perfect away performance against a quality opponent.

Then VAR makes a call. We lose. And now a healthy dose of Spurs fans are calling for the manager to be sacked.

Just has that feel to it. A bad bad feel.

With the exception of Ndombele who is new, the rest are basically the same players we had for the past few seasons. We always choked and will always do with these bunch of players. We will need a major overhaul if we were to challenge for honours in the future. I am sorry Poch needs to go and I have been standing by this for a while now. It does not matter who takes over the team now because I can't see it getting any worse than this.

On one hand Poch pisses me off with the incredible stupid decisions he makes.

On the other I do still feel we’ve been desperately unlucky in that Lo Celso and Sessegnon have not been available to us.

We’re stale basically and our best creative midfielder in Eriksen can’t be bothered anymore.

Unlucky with Lo Celso yes, although it takes about a year anyway, before Poch will give him a start. Sessegnon was injured when we signed him, so not so unlucky with him.

That VAR decision was nuts. But we're still too flimsy when the tide starts turning on us. Our players, especially senior ones, don't seem to grab the game at pivotal moments, like just after that VAR decision, to keep on the front foot.

Such a disappointing result, and the cycle of bullshit, including from plenty on here, rolls on.

Yet another two goals conceded. Until Poch realised that our defence needs protection we will always concede goals. For me he now has 5 games to sort it out otherwise I will be part of the Poch out group.

This is a very difficult one to swallow. VAR -- based on the two completely arbitrary decisions of which frame to analyze and where the shoulder of each player was -- completely turned the game on its head.

That being said Poch made a massive, massive, massive error by bringing Wanyama on. It's a sad story but he's completely finished at this level. When he comes on it's the opposite of shoring up the midfield.

Tough one to stomach but Poch shouldn't escape criticism just because of the injustice of the arbitrary VAR decision going against us.
Cant blame VAR its been great for us overall , but Poch is finished im affraid he is not a winner and hasnt got winning mentality. His subs cost us today bringing Eriksen on for Lamela who at the moment is the heartbeat of the side due to his work rate. And we have lost every game from this position when he takes him off. Needing a goal brings on Eriksen and Wanyama who both can just fuck off. Poch thank you but looking at our form guide youve been amazing but your not a winner and you are destroying us thnak but bye please.

Thrown away another game.

I am fucking sick to the back teeth of excuses - be it the manager or certain players.

Those subs were fucking horrendous. There are players out there who look fucking clueless at times. We clearly have some players in this squad who don't want to fucking be here - can you believe that - not wanting to be here at this club now after all the fucking hard works been put in. That rankles with me so much after watching so many players fuck off over the years because of 'wages' etc ...

Shit needs to be sorted starting with what the fucking identity of this team is going to be. Figure out your best starting 11 barring injuries and build on it.

All of this because of a tool that is ruining the game of football because idiots wanted it - T.V and greed is destroying the sport but some people are getting awfully fucking rich because of it.

Are the players and manager too comfortable?
