Thanks to Rob of Leeds for his comment on Chelsea's performance against Boro last night....

"I was there last night. Imagine an ape with a can opener in one hand and a can of lovely ape food in the other.

Then imagine the ape spending the next 90 mins banging the two together, sticking the can opener up its nose, etc.

That’s what watching Chelsea trying to break down their defence was like last night." 😂😂😂

Joe Cole on podcast, talking about how he regrets joining Liverpool. I didn’t realise we were in for him at the time….

"I had a choice between Liverpool or Spurs because Arsenal pulled out and I just couldn't go to Spurs," he confessed. "I just couldn't go. It would have made sense, Harry Redknapp was the manager, they had a good team, I lived in London, half my pals are Spurs fans. I just couldn't do it."

Fair play. West Ham and Chelsea roots so sticking to his principles. Most likely would’ve failed due to his injury issues but great player in his prime.

Redknapp wanted him but the £100k a week put us off.

We ended up getting VDV on half the salary.

What’s the betting Boehly already has written approval from the FA at time of takeover that previous offences will not be punishable. He will have shown the data and asked for the “clemency” ahead of the buyout to guarantee a giant of the league doesn’t fall into administration. Wait and see

Surely the new Everton owners were in the same boat?

I'd like to know how the 1.5 billion written off affects their FFP position. Surely it is pure unearned income.

If I remember correctly, Cole had wound down his contract at Chelsea with a view to maximising his salary when he become a free agent. Meanwhle, Liverpool were in serious financial difficulties and couldn't afford to buy players, so they needed to take advantage of players available on free-transfers, even if it meant having to pay silly wages.

That's what happened, and they gave the 29 year old, injury prone, Joe Cole a 4 year contract, only to realise their error and send him out on loan about 12 months later.

They don’t have new owners - and u likely to at this rate based on recent media articles.

Also Everton is clear PSR / FFP issues.

Chelsea is much greater in that it’s essentially fraud.

Whilst the owners may get some leniency over the fraud element, if it resulted in exposing massive losses then they should still be penalised for those.
