I’ve only been up once, was in our end: the ‘pool fans made a bunch of noise in the first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes, but the rest of the time it was pretty much silent. Only one game, but wasn’t impressed

The Kop was very silent when Garth Crooks scored what would be the winner in the 1980's - I was in the middle of it and you could have heard a pin drop.

Must be one of the worst seasons for injuries across the league.

Liverpool do not scare me though, I guess it is the start of the next squad cycle for Klopp so things are still to click with the group.

Thought Konate had his best game for them yesterday.
The answer to the league wide injury problem is far too many matches meaning players can't recover properly from their last match.

Love, hate or just feel nothing toward them as a club but it's things like this that make you realise the power for good football clubs can be.

I hate Klopp with a passion. He’s a bully and an arrogant ****. But what a manager he is. He made a midfield of Henderson, Milner and the other guy whose name I forget into one of the best midfields in the league. It’s ridiculous really. And he’s now rebuilding the team into another really good team who will be up there this season, while replacing all the old ****s from last season. When they’re on fire it’s much more exciting to watch than City.

Now I’ve said that, I dislike myself immensely, so let me make it clear that i hate Klopp so much, I hate Liverpool fans almost as much as I hate Arsenal fans, I hate the city because far too many residents there don’t see themselves as part of England, I hate the victim mentality, I hate Stan Boardman and that UFC mullet man Paddy Mulletcock. And I hate Kenny Dalglish the manager, though not the man. Moody ****. And today I realised I hate Mo Salah’s hairline.

Good team though.

Oddly, I don't think they were ever a good midfield.

Liverpool have always been about their defenders and attackers.

TAA and Robbo were the creators, and the front 3 - particularly Firmino, Mane, and Salah created loads on their own with an effective press.

The midfield just kept the ball moving - more a cog, than instrumental in their success.

Have to agree.

I thought it was quite odd how some had written them off.

Klopp is still an elite coach and all it was gonna take for them was for them to sort the midfield out.

But how amazing would it be to go to Anfield and beat them to leapfrog them in a title race

Exactly this.

They had 6 midfielders who were full of energy and they'd just rotate to keep fresh.

None of them were particularly creative but they could chase and play fast.

I had to rewatch our CL final for a course and their midfielders hardly strung a sequence of passes together. It was very much blood and bluster.

Whereas we had some really good build up play, they were playing a lot of longer passes and if the midfield received under pressure it was pretty much hit it and push.

They went off track with Thiago and they burnt out Fabinho and Wijnaldum.

But they look like they are getting back to it and I think people who watch Liverpool and assume they are crap with the ball are looking at it from the wrong perspective. They've never been a ball possession team

I dunno, maybe. Whenever we played them I always thought ‘that midfield is so average’ but they’d still tend to dominate us from back to front aside from the odd very good performance from us. I guess you could say they won games despite their midfield because of how great their attack and defence were but you’d be doing Henderson etc a disservice, in my opinion of course. On paper it was probably the weakest midfield of the top 6/7 but they were always challenging.

Anyway, it can’t be overstated that I hate Klopp so much. This should be the focal point of our conversation. Would love to see another manager knock him out on the sideline. Even Arteta if it meant him being banned for 3 years.

Arteta couldn't knock the skin off a bowl of rice pudding. It's going to have to be Big Ange or Sean Madman Dyche.

I agree. And I know this comes down to preference but for a lot of people this is what has made them exciting to watch. As opposed to Man C for example.

The way I always viewed their midfield at that time was as an instrument of chaos. Their role was to cause panic within the opposition and capitalise on loose balls by quickly distributing to Salah, Sane & Firmino who could just run direct at you all day.

This is probably a controversial opinion but I think Milner is one of if not the most underrated midfielders of our generation. The guy's an absolute tank who can play in virtually every position on the pitch and will give everything in every game. Used to be incredible for the Under 21's and I'd have had him in the England midfield instead of Owen Hargreaves every single day of the week

Moyes and Kompany could take him. That would be a good semi final actually. Moyes v Kompany and Ange v Dyche. I’d say the final would be Kompany v Ange with youth winning the day. Winner gets the gift of sparking out Klopp.

I feel that Ange and Dyche would just end up getting pissed together.

Or they could end up as a pair of doormen at a nightclub.

Then Dyche would glass him as Ange went to the pisser.
I remember being in a pub in Darlington, and seeing this huge woman launch a pint glass at the back of a guys head, and it hit him perfectly with the base of the glass and bounced off. The bloke pitched forward like a weeble, but did fall down. It would have probably been one of the funniest I'd ever seen if I wasn't stotting it. Didn't stay there long.

They have a few out now as well, plus Salah to the AFCON. Could be dip time for the dippers.

Time for them to ramp up the 'conspiracy' grizzling.
