We should of had 6 points from those 2 games as we were the better team in both and threw the wins away by individual error and lapses in concentration in defence. So frustrating, but I would of taken 2 draws last week when I was convinced we'd lose both games, and with the level of performance we put in, at this stage, I suppose I can't complain.

Progress has come a lot faster than I was expecting this season so pleased with that. Will be a MASSIVE summer transfer-wise coming up. Got to get the LB, CB and GK we need and keep our best players again like we did this past Summer. If we get these reinforcements and Suarez stays like he's basically saying now that he will, then I'll be really excited for next season.

A few BIG 'ifs' there though and its a bit early yet for thinking about all that but these last 2 performances and the addition of Sturridge/Coutinho, I'm a relatively happy Red, until in true LFC style of late, we go and get beat 3-0 at Anfield by WBA next game.

For the first time in what feels like forever, I am feeling pretty hopeful and optimistic about the future of Liverpool. Very strange, almost, unnerving feeling.

I don't care. Had we achieved two draws away at the Emirates and Etihad back to back and scored 4 goals in the process we'd all be feeling pretty upbeat.

Be interesting to see if they have finally found some consistency.

This $64,000,000 question as we have lacked this all season. The Liverpool team from earlier this season would now drop points at home to WBA in the next game.

We have statistically been a 1 loss in 3 team for the past 3 seasons which is why we have struggled so much.

I said months ago that I thought they would be a challenge to us, and that they would start to pull it together. I'm not sure they will quite have enough to challenge for fourth this season but they are certainly a big threat now and will be next season if they continue to progress and add to their squad.

Two very good results and unlucky to be be fair not to get more out of these games

Was very impressed with them yesterday. In fact, even though they didn't get the win, I'd be delighted if spurs could take the game to a top team away from home like they did.

I've been impressed with them for while and always thought some on SC were laughing at them prematurely.

They are still a bit behind us as a squad overall but the gap is small and I think when we played them earlier in the season they outplayed us for large parts, just lacked an end product.

Oh and Glen Johnson is better than Walker (cue the inevitable neg reps).

Liverpool have been playing quite well all season. They pass it well and every game they are in with a chance.

Before Sturridge they lacked goals outside of Suarez but defensively they make silly individual errors still. People are having a go at Reina, and rightly so, but what was Agger doing for the 1st goal?

No point having a lot of possession if you throw away cheap goals and don't turn dominance into goals. As a team Liverpool are playing well and I think Rodgers has them well-drilled but they either need upgrades on some of their players or they need to improve.

Liverpool are certainly starting to look like a force to be reckoned with. I'm not looking forward to playing them at Anfield.

Indeedy. You must be cautiously optimistic though eh? Have a strong run to finish this season off and top 4 next season isn't looking that far away.

Hoping chelsea continue to self-destruct or it'll be bloody crowded for that 4th next season. 4 into 1 doesn't go.

I think throwing away Carroll is a big mistake, he would definitely bolster their strikerforce. They will get better next season, I heard a lot of Liverpool fans slating Rodgers on 606, which I think is harsh.

He may have developed the Every Dropped Point is the Referee's Fault syndrome that so afflicted Kenny, but they can't have seriously expected him to do better than he is. I know this is Liverpool fans we're talking about, but still. If Kenny had got them to where they are at now they'd be talking about challenging for the title next season.

I've seen a vid that proves different.

I know Liverpool have looked decent the last couple of games, but they really need to do it against the smaller teams too. As Toela has said, they have been a 1 loss in 3 team for the last few years now and they really have to show consistency before their fans can get really excited. I also think people need to be calm about Sturridge, yes he has started brilliantly, but just like Liverpool he is very inconsistent and needs to show he can play that well over a sustained period.

I hope they finish above Arsenal.

Where do Liverpool keep finding all these transfer funds btw? Splashing another 20 mil this January and you seem rather optimistic about the summer transfer window to? You dont seem to raise much selling players and pretty much give them away (Aquallini, Cole) and always seemed like most Liverpool supporters been negative towards the board.

You obviously have a bigger stadium and fan base than us so would generate more revenue, but am i right thinking Henry do chip in with transfer fees? If so why are so many Liverpool supporters against the current board? (or do i just know stupid pool supporters)?

Yep. That's the hump they have to get over for sure. They're a bit classic Spurs at the mo. Berty Big Bollox against the big boys and then slip up against the teams you wouldn't think they'd struggle with.

Honestly though, they are clearly a flawed team/squad, or have been for the last few yrs. Their league position shows that but they've played well in a lot of games. It's not like they're finishing bottom half of the table or anything. The run in for this season will give us an idea I think. I still remember back a couple of yrs ago. They had a head of steam up towards the end of the season and were looking to finish above us. We then went into Anfield and bish bash bosh, won 2-0.

I'm not at all confident of us repeating that trick this time.

Anyway, giving citeh and assnal games at their grounds tells us that Pool have something about them. If they can marry that up with consistency then, well, goddam it all to hell.

I watched there last few games and Sturage is looking like a VERY good signing, Suarez is still there main thread however and will be interestign to see how her gets on if Suarez is out for a period. There Central defence is very mediocre IMO, yes Agger is good but he is in a very bad run of form.

We make a hell of a lot of money as a business (3rd/4th in league for Revenue I think I remember) due to our brand name and global fan base, in-particular in Asia who spend ridiculous amounts every season on club merch. Commercially, since Ian Ayre came in under Hicks & Gillette as Commercial Director, we have gone from strength to strength on the business side at least, which given our stadium, isn't too bad. Ayre deserves a lot of credit for this regardless of him disappointing so far as CEO/D0F.

FSG get a bad rap off some supporters unfairly who think all they have been bothered about since 2010 is greatly reducing the wage bill, no matter how badly it affects the club in footballing terms. Some see them as 'tight', however this season alone we have spent just shy of £50m net so I think now these negative views are starting to decline as FSG have spent, in 'net' terms, a bit more.

FSG have also done a lot of good work on the business side by basically moving their successful commercial team for the Red Sox across to working with LFC too increasing revenues significantly. They deserve credit for that but don't get it from some fans, who instead seem to fixate on the few things they've got wrong like staff appointments in important club roles.

Its very hard without the recent accounts to know if FSG are investing any of their own money or just lending it to us, or if its just money made by the club itself. We have also made a decent amount back through player sales, in-particular Torres, which is all reinvested so that will explain some of the spending too.

Managed to get my first very away ticket. Felt really proud until I realised everyone was successful and it has now on to general sale. I know it's a sunday afternoon but I thought we'd sell our allocation to a Cat A game?
