What impresses me about this recruitment is that the deal has been done and everything signed in advance of the transfer window even opening, even though it can't be fully formalised or ratified till January. I'd hope we as a club would do the same with our targets rather than dragging on negotiations right until the end of the transfer window (like Dybala or Moutinho), to be more proactive in bringing in pre-identified targets rather than waiting opportunistically to see who might come available.

For players of that sort of value we have got it across the line quickly. It's the more expensive players, with likely more complicated contracts, that we have taken our time with.

It was one we got across the line quickly for a similar amount of money. He was offered late and we snapped him up.

Agreed though, he wasn't one we identified early, he just demonstrates that we can do the deal quickly for that sort of money.
