Better give Ange a longer contract. If they can’t get Alonso then Big Ange will 100% be on their radar and he’s admitted it’s the club he supported as a kid.

Ancelotti has only just signed a new deal so would be odd if they just suddenly binned him off.
Did not know that. Last I remember there was talk last year about how long he was going to stay for. I didn't know that had all been concluded.

Seems like Alonso is a no brainer then. Especially with how he uses his right back at Leverkusen. Would suit TAA perfectly.

This could go quite badly for them as it sounds like they're going to be a little bit rudderless. The next guy coming in is going to have big boots to fill and that might work against them.

Alonso does make the most sense, but this might kick Real Madrid in to action if they have any ambitions of bringing him in (that is if Ancelotti is leaving).

Klopp is genuinely the only coach that has gone toe to toe with Pep regularly too. We don't like Liverpool, but winning the league in front of those dirty, doped up, oasis loving c***s cannot be understated.
I’d rather City win the league to be honest because I absolutely detest Liverpool and cannot take City’s success seriously. We all know they’re cheating and they’re nothing more than a doped up Crystal Palace.

Fair play to him if he really is stepping away for a while to recharge his batteries.

I don't mind the guy tbh, bit odd, but then all football managers are.

Liverpool fans on the other hand . . . :poop:

You know, I can almost see the fairytale being written now - Southgate to Liverpool and he brings Henderson home to live happily ever after....

That, or the return of “Stevie G” as head coach, Carragher and Henderson as joint assistants, and “King Kenny” the wise head overseeing it all in the sporting directors role.

There is only one man for the job. A man who has the stature and experience and a relationship with the club.

That’s the usual stuff when managers leave no?
If the manager is going to another job, yes. But Klopp has said he has run out of energy.
Should not mean that the rest of the coaches are tired.
Just think he will be somewhere else soon.

First the disallowed goal vs us and now Klopp leaving, they have to be the unluckiest fanbase in the world. I imagine someone high up in the Prem has pulled some strings to make this happen. Saddest day in the history of football. YNWA etc

Liverpool fans now think it's written in the stars that they're going to win "The Quad" this season.

God give me strength.

Really could be a space now for us to muscle in.

Liverpool may suffer as I don't think anyone will take them to the heights Klopp did.

But more than that is the fact that from next season, Liverpool will be run from a football perspective, by totally different people.

So interesting to see how that goes and there may be a transitional period.

Chelsea will miss out on CL football. How will that effect spending etc. Maybe they have to sell players who have done well.

City will definitely not be the same once Pep goes. Also, does Txiki follow him out the door? And will City be punished?

Arsenal may have screwed their chance by spending huge amounts on players that have not really advanced them. They may be limited spending wise, especially if they miss out on CL.

United will take time to sort out.

I appreciate that is quite a lot to need to happen but all eras end as as we saw with Sir Alex and David Dein, its incredibly tough to replace those people.

Hopefully we are the start of Ange's Golden era

I mean he's not wrong...

Eight seasons and (domestically) he's won
  • 1 Prem title,
  • 1 FA cup (0-0 draw winning on pens)
  • 1 Lge cup (0-0 draw winning on pens)

Compared to the reputation he has you'd expect it to have been more

Since our FA Cup win in 1982 we have won
3 domestic trophies :

1 FA C 1991
2 League Cups 1999 and 2008

= 43 years (almost) and counting !

How many managers ?
