I mean he's not wrong...

Eight seasons and (domestically) he's won
  • 1 Prem title,
  • 1 FA cup (0-0 draw winning on pens)
  • 1 Lge cup (0-0 draw winning on pens)

Compared to the reputation he has you'd expect it to have been more
You can’t seriously also exclude champions league from that as well…

I think only winning the champions league would be considered success for a lot of clubs.

Haha Spurs have killed Liverpool.
Old Klopp has thrown his toys out of the pram and has threatend to retire unless the FA give him the 3 points they got robbed off against Spurs🤣

Really could be a space now for us to muscle in.

Liverpool may suffer as I don't think anyone will take them to the heights Klopp did.

But more than that is the fact that from next season, Liverpool will be run from a football perspective, by totally different people.

So interesting to see how that goes and there may be a transitional period.

Chelsea will miss out on CL football. How will that effect spending etc. Maybe they have to sell players who have done well.

City will definitely not be the same once Pep goes. Also, does Txiki follow him out the door? And will City be punished?

Arsenal may have screwed their chance by spending huge amounts on players that have not really advanced them. They may be limited spending wise, especially if they miss out on CL.

United will take time to sort out.

I appreciate that is quite a lot to need to happen but all eras end as as we saw with Sir Alex and David Dein, its incredibly tough to replace those people.

Hopefully we are the start of Ange's Golden era

It's quite astonishing when you think where we were just 9 months ago and how the future was looking.

Klopp basically won every competition he had available and reached multiple finals while Pep and City were around.

If this isn't considered successful or good enough, then no manager and no club will ever be good enough nowadays..

He seemed like the perfect fit for Liverpool, in temperament, emotion and style.

Almost impossible to replace

They're crying, literally, proper tears about someone leaving.

Ok, he's been huge for their club and done everything, but, is it cold of me to think adults crying over someone leaving their club is a bit weird.

The last time I cried over someone leaving Spurs was when Ginola left Spurs and I was 10.

It's definitely the right time to leave. The current weak nature of the Prem has shielded them from the loss of Mane and Fabinho. But they can't survive the loss of Salah. I think Klopp leaving means it's just 100% confirmation that Salah is also leaving at the end of the season. VDV is 32, so it's over for Liverpool and Klopp even if he does stay. You simply can't realistically expect to replace players of VDV and Salah's standard, so Klopp is only 2 seasons away from being described as a dinosaur and out of touch with the modern game. It's amazing how quickly Wenger became seen as a weight around Arsenals neck after the Vieira, Campbell and Henry all left in the space of 2 years. But who on earth could realisitically have replaced those 3?

In terms of Premier League attackers and defenders Salah and VDV are as close to 10/10 as you can get, so whoever takes over from Klopp, is truly screwed. Alonso will probably take the job, but he's a fool to do it. It's not like us with Harry Kane, where you can sign players in other areas to make up the difference. Liverpool aren't massively weak anywhere, so losing Salah's goals is going to be devastating to them and VDV isn't going to be getting any better at 33 (which he will be next season.) Liverpool are going to experience what we did when Dembele, Verts, Toby, Eriksen and Rose etc all aged or went off the boil at the same time. Poch should have left after the CL final. Klopp is doing the right thing. You just can't expect to replace players like Salah and VDV and they are generational talents.

Alonso can come in with a big reputation of playing modern, progressive football blah blah blah. But any manager taking that job is fucked, as they need to find 2 genuinely world class players to challenge foR the honours they have under Klopp and that is insanely difficult.

I've always had the impression I could probably go to the pub and have a beer with him. Seems like an alright bloke away from football/Liverpool.

He has many millions in his bank account already so why go there ? What will he do with the millions he already has ?
It’s money, why do players ask for more and more; human instinct is to have more. If ur earning £50k a week why do players ask for £100£, £200£, £300k? It’s an addiction, where is Klopp going to go from Liverpool?

he has somthing lined up. Honestly never liked him, shouty screamy, look at me look at me, kinda guy. And who the fuck his dentist is I have no idea.

I'm almost tempted to go back and look at what they were saying about us when Kane went. On second thoughts, I really can't be arsed.

The timing would be right, but that would be gutting for Liverpool fans, I honestly don’t know why an international manager can’t do a club role at the same time.

Got a feeling there might be a health issue at the root of this sudden announcement whether it be with him or his wife.

It's quite astonishing when you think where we were just 9 months ago and how the future was looking.
It is however when people were saying we are miles away and saying Newcastle had overtaken us, I was saying that things change very fast in football.

We could, and I hope not, just as quickly become a mess again.
