As others have said, i'm very curious to see how this effects the rest of their season.
exactly, very strange timing of the announement.

as for his replacement I am praying for Steven Gerrard but fear it will be Xabi Alonso who looks a natural manager, just as he was a natural leader on the pitch.

I reckon its because they caught wind it was going to leak so decided to get ahead of it.

David James: let’s put it into perspective, it’s not like someone has passed away

Next clip….

John Aldridge: it’s like a family member passing away

Aldridge is a massive **** anyway. Joe Cole’s comments about ‘shouldn’t have joined Liverpool’ were put on twitter last week and Aldridge was quite unkind about Cole (but put a wink next to it to make it all better……) yet if he’d read the article, Cole was actually very complimentary about Liverpool and he just meant he should’ve gone abroad in a hotter climate to help his knee. So yeah, Aldridge fell for the clickbait and made a **** of himself.

Yeah great manager, but I can’t agree with any of the love for him as a person.

I absolutely hate having to watch him aggressively getting in officials faces, run up to people on the sidelines and the repeated snide comments and actions he makes during and after games.

The game with us earlier this season just finished it off for me, that ridiculous statement afterwards (which they should have been punished for but weren’t because of who they are) which was designed solely to make sure they got favourable decisions from here on out. I just think for all their talk of sportsmanship and playing the game right, they do anything but.

Admire his managerial record, appreciate how much he has won and the teams he’s built, but for me personally he can get in the bin with the rest of their entitled, whining, deluded, passive-aggressive scumbag fan base.

My dad just sent me this re Liverpool fans in work.

"One of the managers in here sent some of the supporters an email with strap line ' it's good to talk' and a link to the Employee Assistance Programme on Mental Wellness. Hilarious"

Marmite bloke, but he is without doubt an excellent manager & has been hugely successful at both Dortmund & Liverpool.

If Salah goes in the summer they could very well be in for a shock next season. New manager having to live up to Klopp and his team, and to do that without by far their best player would be an incredibly difficult task.

Alonso will obviously be the main shout but it is a huge ask to go from Leverkusen surprising everyone, to taking over a Liverpool team that expects success. Same goes for De Zerbi, there is no real pressure to win at Brighton, a 7-10th place finish is deemed a success, to then jump to a team that expects to be challenging for every competition they enter is a completely different level.

Perfect example of that is David Moyes. Has had a successful career (relatively speaking) with Everton & West Ham but the pressure of being Man Utd boss was way way way too much for him to handle & manage.

I don't mind Klopp, I know i'm in the minority here there and everywhere but I find him a likeable bloke.

Got a feeling there might be a health issue at the root of this sudden announcement whether it be with him or his wife.

My bet is that it is tied to the state of the team and the ownership.

They are likely to lose Salah and a couple other players are coming up to the twilight of their careers. The squad is aging and is going to need an infusion over the next several windows.

I don't think FSG will be willing to spend the cash of Boehly/Chelsea to do a quick restocking of the squad. FSG are reportedly angling to become the owners of the NBA expansion team in Las Vegas which is supposed to run ~$5 Billion, they have already been scaling back spending on their baseball team (the group is named after the baseball stadium) and there were reports of them trying to sell a portion of LFC off just this summer.

I think Klopp really just is looking at the work it would take in those circumstances and thinking that a job talking football on SKY for a year followed by a national team gig sounds more appealing.

Not won a lot? Blimey you must have high standards.
I could be wrong but he's won a CL, Prem, FA, and league cup in that time.

I think we've been runners up in 3 of those comps in that timeframe.

It's no Fergie/Wenger/Pep/Jose record which is the company he's mentioned in.

Fundamentally don't understand the "look at them crying lol" thing, and I don't think a lot of people saying it believe it either. Football's meant to be something emotional, what's the fucking point of it otherwise?

Listening to the press conference live now, I don’t think he is well which is a very, very sad thing. I hope the outcome is good for for him.
