The way Ten Hag set up United today reminded me of what Conte said about recruiting players for the PL - how it's almost like a different sport and players need to have the right physical characteristics to survive in this league.

You look at United today and they had a midfield of Bruno, Fred with Eriksen as a 6, then 5'8" Martinez at centre back. Then a front 3 without a single player that can hold the ball up.

ETH is going to have to adjust fast because that was downright naive today in an away game against a hard working, well coached team like Brentford.

Got to say that I feel very sorry for Ten hag. Probably expected to get new players to fit his system, but has ended up having to get 4th choice options. Eriksen clearly wasn't a first choice or they'd have got him straight away. Same with Martinez

Weird - imo.

I don't feel sorry for him or Eriksen. They are adults, and made adult decisions to go to United. They are both being well compensated for their troubles.

Poch definitely wouldn't sort this mess out.

He needs to work under a top DOF otherwise he's equally as clueless about targetting players to bring in.

The funny thing about ETH is, I think he's already fucked it. The Martinez signing will be one of the worst PL buys ever. 60 mill for a midget CB, and then partnering him with Maguire. They signed a LB they don't need. ETH disregarded Rangnick's advice, went his own way, so there's arrogance there too.

There's no doubt at all that United have gone with his targets, so ETH has to bear responsibility for that. It's like he's never watched PL football before.

Don't disagree. Just making a point we shouldn't feel sorry for him.
Oh I don’t feel sorry for him, I’d have liked him to have come back, but I was always a bit ‘meh’ about it for our squad.

Yep, and every single fan I saw from all clubs, including loads of people on here were saying Eriksen great player but to lightweight going into that already lightweight midfield. Experts at Man Utd went and did it anyway and look at the unfolding car crash. They even played Eriksen up top last week, I mean it’s painful and yet funny to watch such stupidity.

Do they think at all about the type of players they are buying and if they fit? Sure doesn’t look like it.

If the Glazers hired me to run United, the first thing I would do tomorrow, would be to reach a mutual termination of Ronaldo's contract. He does not want to be there, and its unfair for any manager trying to rebuild to deal with that. I would let him go for free. Addition by subtraction.

The second thing I would do is get the lads to hold Maguire down, and then I would shave his head. If there is one thing I hate more than watching Maguire play CB, its watching Maguire play CB, while he does that stupid wiping his hair off his forehead move.

Two simple things, and already everyone would be happier.

I thought it was pretty well reported that he wanted both those players?

My feelings exactly. I have absolutely no reason to feel sorry for ETH or Eriksen, who one minute said he wanted to play in the Champions League when he was leaving Brentford, and then signed for United. No, fuck 'em both. I'm actually really enjoying their agonies at the moment. I will always have the words of Ferguson in my head before every time we played them 'Lads. it's Tottenham'

Payback is a bitch Sir Alex.

I'm looking forward to watching Mark Goldbridge's 'Watch-along' report on YouTube tomorrow. It's the gift which just keeps giving.

No one is sorting this shitshow out anytime soon. Remember Contes meltdown after the Burnley loss? Imagine if he was there with those players?! He’d walk a few games in.
Whoever goes there now will surely realise it’s going to ruin their reputation. Tainted job.

That's why change has to come from the top. Anyone coming to that club now is after a pay day, pure and simple. The manager job is a poisoned chalice, and a new manager coming in is doomed to fail. It's happened 4-5 different times now, starting with mourinho.

Neville keeps mentioning us and levy because he knows we’ve gone past them.

Exactly what I thought.

It must sting so much that we were such there inferior for so long and now we've gone right past them.

Yes we've won nothing in recent times but Neville is well aware of our progression and their rapid decline.

Such a stark contrast
