That interview was an absolute car crash. He said they did lots of things well (they didn’t) but they didn’t score or avoid conceding, in his own words ‘two of the most important things’ (are there others? ?). Trying to defend that performance just annoys the fan base, just admit it was shit.
Moyes obviously believes he is a top manager, I see zero evidence of this. He does have possibly my favourite manager nickname of all time from his spell at Sunderland - the energy vampire

I think you have to respect what he did at Everton and West Ham.

Had West Ham competing for UCL & Europa 3 years in a row? Got them to a European semi final aswell. He deserves credit.

But like Antonio, a completely inflated ego.

Or they had a bet.
Yeh, got to be that. Mind you, shows how small time they are if their Sporting Director is pissing about like that with lost bets. Can you imagine Paratici turning up to a NLD wearing an Arsenal scarf because he lost a bet over how many jellied eels he could eat in a minute? (I reckon 8)

Feels like Moyes has become stale at West Ham. No doubt he improved them prior to this season since he came in, but think his time is up.

He did the same at United, said they played well and created opportunities when United fans could clearly see it was just balls in the box and nothing clean cut worked.

But at a club like United its so clear when a coach is winging it due to the high standards they are used to.

Although, we are similar actually, we know when we've played poorly, so when a coach says we played well and created, despite having only 2 good chances, they wont get away with it.

Moyes has done that every where and he often blames the ref. I recall many times where his team got a 3 or 4-0 pasting and he'd say something like "if the ref gave that corner we should have had, we'd have been in the game".

It's laughable really.

If they were to sack Moyes, who could / would they target? Their fans and owners may have aspirations of Pochettino or Tuchel but they would surely end up taking a punt on someone unproven in the Premier League. I think the issues Leeds and Soton are facing in finding a new manager are a good reason for West Ham sticking with Moyes. And for all his faults I’d back Moyes to stay up ahead of a managerless Saints/Leeds and Bournemouth.

They set up not to lose the game, rather than trying to be competitive. I have no idea why either, we got battered by Leicester and lost in the week, they had a week to prepare for the game as well. That was all on Moyes, even if Ings wasn't 100%, surely you give him and Antonio a chance together upfront, knowing how much we concede goals early on. They also had no creativity in midfield.

I think they are probably going to survive this season, they have enough in the squad to do so but I can't see Moyes lasting much longer.

They had a good 18 months under Moyes and I think that COVID period somehow benfitted them. Could be coincidence but the timing of their form improving (when covid was rife) and then dipping (when covid infections started dropping).

That shows how crap their fans are, Playing in empty stadiums made everyone else worse, so they looked like they were improving.

I suppose Leeds and Saints have proven how difficult it is to find a decent manager to agree to come to a club at the bottom of the table. That said, you'd imagine West Ham would've had a decent shot at luring Emre or Lopetegui if they'd been decisive earlier, or Dyche if they didn't think him beneath them.

I’m sure the swanky stadium will have the candidates lining up to take the job. Mr Campbell will be polishing his shoes for the interview

i still think Rafa Benitez will take over at West Ham.

rumors are that he turned down Leeds recently.

Personally, if West Ham is to change managers, they need to do it now, the next 3 home games are all winnable and a good haul from those matches should make things more comfortable.

Bournemouth is gonna struggle to pick up points in the next 3 games with city, arse, and pool. So they should go above them at the very least.

i would chuckle if they get the drop, but (like the last time it happened) i still think they should be good enough survive.
